A nice nod in there for the Community fans with Alison Brie and Jim Rash turning up, also: "strawberry float, I miss Chevy"

Wow.

I liked him in Community so I might give it a shot but I won't be getting my hopes up.

I enjoyed it - obviously you have to be on board with the basic premise of these kinds of shows, and it helps to like McHale!

It wasn't mind blowing but raised enough laughs from me that I'll be watching next week.

I mean, I like him in Community, but not much else (gave it a shot because of Community). I usually think he's way too sarcastic IRL, like he's a parody of his community character weirdly

Is anyone watching Counterpart? I was not too convinced after the first couple of episodes, but it has been bloody great since episode 3. Though I think they do need to make it more obvious which of the two JK Simmons you are with

Amazon are making a TV adaptation of Consider Phlebas by Iain Banks.

http://deadline.com/2018/02/culture-boo ... 202297416/

A kinetic, action-packed adventure on a huge canvas, Consider Phlebas draws upon the extraordinary world and mythology Banks created in the Culture, in which a highly advanced and progressive society ends up at war with the Idirans, a deeply religious, warlike race intent on dominating the entire galaxy.

The story centers on Horza, a rogue agent tasked by the Idirans with the impossible mission of recovering a missing Culture ‘Mind,’ an artificial intelligence many thousands of times smarter than any human—something that could hold the key to wiping out the Culture altogether. What unfolds, with Banks’ trademark irreverent humor, ultimately asks the poignant question of how we can use technology to preserve our humanity, not surrender it.

“The story of the Culture is so rich and captivating that for years Hollywood has been trying to bring this utopian society to life on the screen,” said Sharon Tal Yguado, Head of Scripted Series at Amazon Studios. “We are honored that we have been chosen, along with Dennis Kelly and Plan B Entertainment, to make Consider Phlebas into a television series we think will be loved by fans for years to come.”

I'm not sure how I feel about this TBH.

Yessssssssssss! The Culture series is ripe for adaptation. The only trouble is that Consider Phlebas is a lousy introduction, they should start with Player of Games instead.

If done right, it could be phenomenally zeitgeisty. Transexual transhuman transgender post-scarcity luxury space communism... in space!

It's going to be a tough one to do. I would have prefered one of the shorts from State of the art, maybe the story with the same name where they come to earth. Player of games would also be a very good choice.

I wonder if they could convince Gary Oldman to play Horza?

The Looming Tower S01E01, Wednesdays in the US.

Based on the Pulitzer-Prize winning book, The Looming Tower traces the rising threat of Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda in the late 1990s and how the rivalry between the FBI and CIA during that time may have inadvertently set the path for the tragedy of 9/11. The series follows members of the I-49 Squad in New York and Alec Station in Washington, D.C., the counter-terrorism divisions of the FBI and CIA, respectively, as they travel the world fighting for ownership of information while seemingly working toward the same goal - trying to prevent an imminent attack on U.S. soil.

Living Biblically S01E01, Mondays in the US.

Chip Curry is a modern day man at a crossroads in his life, who decides to live strictly in accordance with the Bible. A film critic for a New York Newspaper and a soon-to-be father, Chip wants to be a better man following the loss of his best friend. He decides to put his slightly obsessive temperament to use and start living his life 100% by the Bible to find direction. His smart, pregnant wife, Leslie, while both skeptical and entertained by her husband’s new passion, supports him completely. Knowing he’ll need some practical advice, Chip forms a “God Squad” with Father Gene, a Catholic Priest who helps Chip translate the rules of the Bible to a modern world; and Father Gene’s best friend, easygoing Rabbi Gil Ableman, who respects Chip’s chutzpah and is glad to serve as a sounding board when they meet at their local bar. At Chip’s newspaper, he finds support from his no-nonsense boss, Ms. Meadows, who knows Chip’s self-penned story will sell newspapers, and his co-worker and friend, Vince, who is quick with a reality check and likes to wind Chip up for his own amusement. As he begins his sincere spiritual journey toward a more moral life with the help of his wife and friends, Chip wonders if he’ll be able to take a page – or every page – out of the Good Book, and if the effect will be of Biblical proportions.

This is a US conservatives worst nightmare and I can see the calls for it's cancellation already :slol: .

I don't care how far away this is set it's going to be called a liberal conspiracy to destroy America and Fox News will no doubt spend hundreds of hours frothing at the mouth about how the show is liberal indoctrination gone mad. They're going to go strawberry floating bananas :slol: .

Is there a reason why I can't find Arrow S06E11 anywhere?

My usual sources go from eps 1 to 10, skip 11 then have 12, 13 and 14. Is this because of the crossover episode not being counted?

I've gotten a bit behind with downloading TV stuff so don't really know how many episodes have aired.

Wow, Mondays are going to be my new favourite TV days

Solid return from the Good Fight, my only worry was they did seem to be spinning up a bit too much for the season.

Counterpart though was outstanding, love what they are doing with it. More people need to be watching it.
