satriales wrote:I enjoyed Ghost Island but in hindsight it was just an average season. Probably let down by the edit - some people had zero screen time. The ghost island concept also was a bit disappointing. Some of the idols and rewards on it were fine, but I didn't like that the game was pure chance, and whether you even play the game was pre-decided by producers. The ending was fitting, two worthy winners so was happy for either to take it.

I found Ghost Island as a season particularly underwhelming. It had its moments, of course, like every season, but they dropped the ball. A lot. Rather than sending someone to GI every episode and leaving it to random chance as to whether or not an advantage, they should have had set days where someone would go and be guaranteed something there. It was such a waste of time. Episodes felt like quick cuts as times. We're at camp, then reward challenge, then GI, then camp, then immunity challenge etc. If we have to go to GI because it's the main focal point of the season then combine the reward and immunity challenges to save some time and free up about a quarter of the episode to focus on the players more.

The players were very polarising, you had a few really strong characters and then the rest were total duds. Whether or not this is because so many players were shafted in terms of the edit as they put so much focus on what turned out to be the final three is up for debate. For me based on what we saw, it was one of the weakest casts ever. Definitely bottom 10.

Can't wait for the upcoming Australian season... Especially with you know who returning. Don't think he'll last long though.

Just finished season 2 of Glow  It's so good.

Debbie's reaction to Ruth almost getting date-raped :dread:

Sam's reaction :datass: He's a much more likeable character at the end of this season.

Poor Bash :( Kinda crazy that that's how people used to react to aids :dread:

Also had no idea GLOW was an actual wrestling federation :slol:

Netflix won a U.S. Bankruptcy Court’s approval to terminate its output deal with The Weinstein Company, a settlement that means the streaming service won’t be obligated to stream a third season of MTV’s Scream.

Castle Rock S01E01, Wednesdays in the US.

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock is an original story that combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.

If it's anything like seasons 2 and 3, there'll be endless chat with nothing of note actually happening before it all ends on a massive anti-climax.

Castle Rock 1x01- I loved that. Pleased that it didn't just coast on Stephen King fanservice like I feared it would. A show can't survive on ambience alone despite how great the cast is.

You don't cast Terry O'Quinn and kill him off five minutes in though. What a waste.

I'm hoping the Champions aren't familiar with Russell and they leave him alone to play his game. The contenders would vote Russell off day 1 if he was on their tribe.
