So this is what it must feel like to have a broken heart.

Suzz's dreams being crushed on his birthday as well, poor chap.

Still, didn't really click with VC2, so maybe it's for the best.

I'm currently replaying the first game, I forgot how great the battle mechanics are, love the strategy element! I also forgot how slow and plodding the story bits are, it feels like I spend more time watching story panels than doing battles.

I think the game would have been much better if they included a random map generator for skirmish mode. Unlimited potential for epic battles.

Chapter 7 is a tough bitch though, you really need to know what is going to happen in order to plan to beat it. Once Valkyrur appears your troops get shredded if you don't hide them behind big tank.

Really love it though so its tragic to think the IP has been wasted away to browser social gaming crap :(

Someone hold Melatonin.

There's an English language fan translation in the works!

I knew about that already. Someone should still hold me though.

Square strawberry float up the FFTactics port - Fans make a patch to fix it.
Sega treat Valkyria Chronicles like an abusive spouse - Fans salvage what they can for the West.

Imagine if you owned a PSP and weren't running custom firmware on it at this point. Imagine what that sort of life would be like.

I apparently lead a twisted mockery of something called life.

However, if the translation gets completed, I would immediately be getting custom firmware going.

Edit: Also, I now know how Melly feels when this thread gets bumped - a brief flash of irrational hope, all too suddenly crushed beneath the heel of inevitability.

Sorry Melly, unfortunately it's not a new VC release but it is related.

If you pay more than the average price, you will also receive OK Go's Twelve Remixes of Four Songs! All of the albums are DRM-free, in MP3 and FLAC (lossless-quality audio) formats. You can also designate part of your purchase to go to the Child's Play Charity and the Electronic Frontier Foundation, two amazing non-profit organizations.

I got that last night. Listening to the opening theme has me wanting to play (and finally finish) the first one again.

So good

I'd imagine my life is a twisted mockery much like Mr Jeff's. Not only has finishing the first game eluded me, but I also had a copy of the second one under my bed for the best part of two years. Unopened, untouched and unplayed.

It's in a happier home now though, hopefully living the life that a PSP game should. Rather than being stuck beside a pile of dusty Batman comics.
