I know this sounds terrible, but I gave up on VC due to no progress rewards (i.e. trophies). I'd be all over a remake for the PS4 if they include trophies.

Yes?

My atheism has been rocked to the core because this proves the existence of a God.

Two months ago Famitsu revealed the existence of Valkyria Chronicles Remastered and now we have details of a western release of the revamped PS3 game. It will feature 1080p/60fps visuals, Japanese and English audio support, trophy support, and will include all the original DLC.

The game will be released both physically and digitally, and lucky Americans who pre-order will get the game in a “Squad 7 Armored Case”, whatever that is.

There doesn’t appear to be a release date yet, but there is a price, $29.99 in the United States.

Day 1. Really tempted to get the physical copy but I just know I'll play it more if I buy digitally. Decisions, decisions.

I like the look of the trailer, how does this play exactly?Action mode makes it look like you have a lot of control over the characters. Would I enjoy this if I like Advance Wars?

Your movement is restricted by time, not distance or squares like in Advance Wars or Fire Emblem. Heavy characters will only have 4 seconds or so while infantry will have 10. It's VERY similar to those games, though, so if you like AW you'll probably love this.

I prefer VC movement to AW. The games where you're restricted to spaces on a grid... I rarely enjoy those.

Literally the only thing I'd want changed is the ranking system. It always bothered me that time was the only factor that contributed to your end of mission mark, as often that meant ignoring strategy and just bum-rushing to the goal. It was such a letdown when my first mission ended with a D grade, considering I had methodically dispatched the enemy forces and didn't lose a single soldier in the process.

Both are available to put on pre-rental lists at Boomerang for those that want to try these out before buying.
