Of all the games going it’s NFS Heat I’m enjoying at the mo. Was £3 in the sale. Once I got used to the car handling and upgraded a few times it’s good fun. No way to get above 40fps even on low settings so set the screen to 40 on steam and in game to medium. I understand on Xbox One X it was 30fps anyway so can’t expect 90 all the time

Anyone else get horrifically low download speeds in Desktop mode? In normal game mode I get decent "modern" speeds, but in Desktop it's sometimes 100kbps :dread:

Would it suprise you if I said I've never once entered desktop mode?

Not even to download something like ProtonUp-QT or Heroic?

Nope. I've only played stuff straight from my Steam library

I’m the same tbh  I loaded desktop mode once to get Protonup-QT but after that I’ve not been using it since.

I use it quite a lot. EmuDeck, protonup, chiaki, AM2R, Heroic Launcher

By no means a requirement if you’re happy with the steam store but delighted they didn’t lock it out because by all means they could have!

I use it pretty often, I think it's great, and have found it a really good stepping off point for using Linux that's been a much better user experience for a novice than the raw installs of Ubuntu that I've attempted to use in the past.

When you use Heroic Launcher, does in then put the games from that (Say Epic store stuff) in the library on the SteamOS side? Under Not on Steam?

Was thinking of picking up Kingdom Hearts at some point but they seem to be Epic exclusive

You can add them to Steam from within Heroic Launcher, so they have their own entry under non-Steam and you can start them without going into the launcher. I have mine in a GOG / Epic collection.

I find that Heroic Launcher doesn't work very well. Like the game starts but none of the buttons work.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.

Are the likes of Fallout 3, 4, and New Vegas and Skyrim worth playing at this point in time, do they hold up? Never played any Fallouts but I dabbled with Skyrim on Switch.

I think New Vegas is the best of them, it's well worth playing even if it's a little dated because it has such an excellent story.

Bit of a strange one, but one of my games has vanished from my Deck and I have no idea how or why. I'd downloaded MGS3 HD Collection and was playing it through RPCS3 and it showed in my Steam Library, but went to play it last night and it had just... gone

I've checked the folders and the ISO file is still in there looking at me like wat :| , but it just doesn't seem to be recognised anymore :?

You making sure you are looking under non steam games? As it won't be in your main library if it's been added through emulation

Yeah checked there, it's just vanished. Must have high-percentage camouflage on or something.

Other than CDKey’s, is there anywhere else you can buy cheaper Steam games from? Was after Assassin’s Creed Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla but Steam versions aren’t on CDkey atm

Solved this by the way, had to remount (oo-err) the .iso file so it could be seen again (I guess? No idea how it all works to be honest :slol: )
