In early access on Steam for a few quid. Anyone else playing it? It’s pretty addictive and based. Plays kinda like a rogue-lite Geometry Wars with some questionable sprites that totally aren’t inspired by 2D Castlevanias.

My best run so far is 10m15s

:)

This game is soooo good! Two hours just flew by this morning and I want to keep playing!

I've unlocked the second stage but I just keep replaying the first stage, trying to survive the full half an hour.

I've got all but two of the newest achievements, will probably get those today and tomorrow. Been playing for 39 hours so far in the last month or so.

Well worth playing even for a few hours. Admittedly I'm not a fan of the new Random card mechanic they added and playing I'm actually getting pretty bored. It's mainly because I kind of get to a point in the game and don't need to do anything. I've tried putting curse on but then it's too hard and feels like no matter what I do I can't beat it, so I'm somewhat stuck.

Had an awesome run on this last night! Went the whole 30 mins on Mad Forest with Imelda. For the last few minutes I was levelling up every five seconds or so. Finished with a level of 147 and about 14K - not bad for a n00b I reckon.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Survived for over 20mins and hit Level 53 on the second stage.

I love this, I love that every run will be beneficial to the ones afterwards thanks to the upgrade money spending stuff, then there's the way stages unlock and certain combo's for weapons it's the pinnacle of a 'one more go' game.

'Vampire Survivors' is a f**king terrible name, I keep forgetting it.

I love the library, the constrained nature of it encourages some different tactics

Just realised that this is included in Cloud but, ridiculously, isn’t touch enabled. One of the few games that wouldn’t be hampered by touch controls, and would be perfect for a quick phone session.

I just did the same level and managed to finish it. Garlic, Bible, dove, knives and holy water. Last 30 second were a bit iffy but I made it.

I also just made a 30 minute run in the library, using Pasqualina, so a full projectile focused build. Absolutely insane looking by the end, but even at level 82, I could just stand still and my abilities were wiping everything out just before they got to me.

The descriptions for the different creatures are fantastic, well worth a read.

The bestiary entries were written by Stephanie "Jim" Sterling.

The Sterling humour comes through. It's a fantastic addition to an already packed game.

I played it a few times and don't actually like it that much. I don't like how you don't have to control the firing.

Yep, I've just tried it for the first time and echo this. It makes the player too passive and the early stages really dull. The first five minutes seem to be the same each time, then it ramps up, then you're dead.

It's only the breadcrumbs laid by the permanent unlocks that feel compelling. Gameplay-wise, I'm not drawn back by the thought of spending the early parts of each game just running away and moving between enemies.

It lacks the punch of something like Hades' combat. For bullet hell shooting, it lacks the immediacy and agency of Enter the Gungeon.
