I was playing this afternoon, got that as well.

I'm feeling a bit similar to your last post actually. I wasn't getting on too well at first, I really found the amount of info and things to do (particularly outside) that hit you at the start a bit daunting, but as I go I'm getting into it a lot more. And I'm feeling more badass now too.

Finally got this working (strawberry floating GFW Live). Pretty awesome. Basically AA but better in every way.

I finished this last week, and I'm working through the Riddler stuff and any leftover sidequests at the moment.

Worst ending to a game in years? Yup.

Everything was just so shoddily handled, I could scarcely believe what the strawberry float I was seeing. Rocksteady might have had something at some point with their idea to kill off Joker. It might have had some sort of impact, some sort of shock value. But the fact that not once, but twice before in the game you were lead to believe he had been killed took every last bit of sting out of it. When he took his last breath, I couldn't give a gooseberry fool. I was just glad to see an end to the ridiculous charade.

Other things that were strawberry floating stupid about the finale:
- The manner in which Joker sealed his fate. Jesus. :fp:
- A final boss that is just pulled from NOWHERE.
- Love interest killed -> "NO!" -> Never mentioned again

I mean, I loved the game, but that last 20 minutes is just a kick in the balls.

Speaking of badass (don't read if you haven't finished Iceberg Lounge) How badass was that shoryuken on the Penguin?

Save got deleted again (playing on 360) :( When I last played I switched off the console as the game was loading (not saving) after I'd gotten killed, then when I went back to it a few moments ago there was no game save *again*. I'm more pissed off about having lost all the upgrades than anything else. Story progression, though I was quite a way into it (paying Freeze a second visit), will be easy enough to catch up to but if this gooseberry fool happens again and and I lose a similar amount of time... I'll just move on to another game and hope this shiz gets patched.

Can you kill the helicopters that are flying around? Are they even baddies?

Really? I wouldn't exactly say the game was building to the point where you could finally put strawberry floating Clayface in his place.

One of the gadgets I got mentions interfering with helicopters in a way which suggests they can be baddies.

Three or four hours in and I'm far from being blown away. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but it's not as tightly-designed as Asylum, and I think it may just be that I prefer that Metroidvania structure. Gliding and swinging around the city is fun, but...I dunno. To me, it's not quite as exciting as Asylum. There was a constant sense of menace and danger in that game that I'm not really getting from this. Need more time with it, I think.

I wasn't impressed initially. It throws you into this...mess of a place and seems to say "Go wild." When you figure out it's not an open world game, and it should be played like Asylum it's actually much better.

I read so many posts by people saying they weren't enjoying it as much as AA that I got worried. Those worries were not allayed for a good long while but despite two restarts I am now really enjoying this. While it isn't enjoyable in the same way as AA, there is definitely a great game here (during story missions and when mucking about in between them).
During my last session I went from avoiding Riddler's puzzles to searching them out. Especially when I figured out how the cage and ball ones work  And there's a great one involving the Remote Controlled Batarang and a series of quick closing trapdoors. Shame about the award for solving it though

I shot one with the zap gun a few times and it just killed me with its machine gun. Ah well, they don't seem to attack you otherwise.

Really excited to get home and play this. Not had that with a game for ages.

You can't kill a helicopter no, they aren't living things.

Just did the final bit of the Wonder Tower. Oh that's gotta hurt! <what I heard in my head in the Joker's voice as the cinematic ended

Wow. I mean... wow. I was expecting this to be merely okay/above average and after having played Skyrim for 200+ hours I was expecting a bit of a come down. How wrong was I?! Arkham City has one thing lacking that made Asylum one of my favourites of this gen (the way it strawberry floated with you) but it has so many things going for it that I am as blown away by Arkham City as I was with Arkham Asylum. It's that good.
edit: I've still not finished it so my final oppinion on it may change, but I've just done a whole chunk of story gameplay and I bloody *loved* it.

Finished it.

AAAAARGH! How the strawberry float can they end it like that?!

Final fight was a bit meh, but you know who doing you know what was handled pretty well even though the overall impact was somewhat lessened by what happened a few moments before. Loved the ending cinematic though. And just as I was writing this the credits rolled and I got one last missed call

No, but there's lots of hints of there being double Jokers around the place - especially in some of the goons background/incidental dialogue

I was convinced the Joker had died and been replaced an imposter by about 3/4 of the way through. I was sort of right!
