Batman: Gotham City will most likely be a 2010 release, even if it's isn't whole of Gotham, and just, say the Narrows.
I think it'll be unlikely to be a Sandbox environment, probably more of the same like it's prequel with a fixed environment a la Metal Gear & Metroid.

And there's no sign of Eidos/Square Enix in the trailer looks like WB/DC acquired that part of the franchise outright.

What did he say? I thought he loved playing the Joker, you'd have to really to get a performance like that.

On the subject of the game, I've got to admit, when I saw the video listed on GT my first reaction was dismay, I thought it was too soon and as it was AA2 I feared they'd succumbed to the money and just be making the same game again.
The trailer put those fears to rest though, not sure if Arkham has pshyically moved or if it's it's a mental thing/metaphor for the state of Gotham. Like in Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy where that guy lives in an inside out house on the beach so he can be outside what he considers to be the asylum.

Where did you get that from? The poster on the wall?

Edit, the poster is of uncle sam like the one on the new teaser website.

Noticied that there is a police blimp up in the sky like the ones from the animated series. :D

Apart from being heavily hinted at in the first game (Police radio saying Two-Face was robbing a bank...etc.) you just have to look at the poster. Uncle Sam has his faced ripped-off on the website and he's holding a gun in his left hand, which is burnt.
The Joker has been modded to look more like the community TDK creations, too.

Anyone else feel that having the Joker again wouldn't be a good idea? As much as I loved the Joker in AA, I just feel that there are more villains who could fill in. Two Face or Black Mask if done right could be terrifying. I doubt we'll see a sandbox game(Unreal Engine doesn't really suit that style of game) but like others have said a Metroid Prime style affair could well be on the cards.

The more I think about this game the less I want another Batman vs Joker game.

Edit: I hope they have more Riddler challenges again. I loved that part of the game

Great news! Arkham Asylum was my favourite game this year (I haven’t played that many full price games this year though!).

:fp: at those who thought the Batman logo mean he is too old for anything.

What I think is...

If you look the rough layout and it looks like a big question mark from the Riddler has been stamped on the Batman logo, so therefore he's in the sequel for sure.

The Joker - Looks like he's getting a treatment to get over with the effects from the titan and he also looks more evil this time with black eyes.

Harley Quinn - I see she has escaped, but how? Who knows?

The Riddler - He will be in the game, no question asked.

Two-Face and Mr. Penguin will be in the game too, so does Scarecrow and Killer Croc.

If Croc is in it I wanna go toe-to-toe with the mofo and smack him in the gob! Granted if my wish was to have come true in AA then it would have been similar to a Titan boss fight, and so would have been a bit of a let-down. Hopefully Rocksteady come up with a more enjoyable way of dealing with the big brutes - how about having to chain combos on them? Missing a combo = massive damage to Bats and having to start over, the more combos you land the more damage you do. Stick in some acrobatic dodges and... well something like that but better

D'aawwww, he sounds like the most adorable villain ever!

It's more than obvious that Two-Face is in this one; as someone mentioned the image here: http://arkhamhasmoved.com/uk/ is rife with references (the burnt hand, the ripped off face, half the billboard unlit/flickering).

Maybe they showed the Joker in the trailer because they didn't want to show the main baddie. The Joker as a supporting role this time?

This type of game wouldn't be half as good in a sandbox environment. A spin-off title yes...but not Arkham Asylum.

Well Joker doesn't really look up to being a main baddie right now.

Warner have taken over publishing rights from Eidos.

C&VG wrote:"We are thrilled to build a global game franchise from Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is receiving an incredible response from gamers and fans of Batman around the world," said Warner Interactive boss, Martin Tremblay.

You may be right there. The website now shows Joker in a rocking chair strapped up to an IV bag full of blood so I can't imagine him being in fighting shape this time round.

Maybe they kill him off near the start?

Also, you never see 'Harley Quinn's' face in the trailer.

Joker's never going to be killed off and it is Harley but she may just be caring for him

Exactly - and that's why you might consider it for this game.

Didn't Ra's Ah Ghul's body go walkies from Arkham's morgue during the game? :shifty:

Can I just say, you should be extremely excited about this announcement. The work ethic at Rocksteady Studios is incredible. Their priority will be to make the sequel surpass the original in every way conceivable, and they will not rest until they have achieved that.
