Finished this last night, what a fantastic game that was  (yes I even loved that ending)

It was weird coming from Uncharted 3 (which I enjoyed very much) back to Batman as the combat system really is a step up. That, and just swinging around as Batman in general > anything else. Thought the Catwoman sections were a nice change of play too.

Can't wait to see where they go with the next game.

I think AA is an amazing game and was a real 'wow' moment, great fun. Arkham city can be a bit overwhelming given how much they have tried to cram in, but I preferred it to the original. I preferred the story and hostages, and the additional characters. It's a fair point that the open nature struggles at first when certain gadgets are locked, but it felt more open than AA.

Both awesome games, my favourite series on the 360.

I can't choose between the two, it really would be like picking a favourite child :fp: Sad but true. There's just something special about them both. And while the sequel does overwhelm you a bit from the off that sense of intimidation doesn't last all that long, because before you know it you're stomping bad guys in the mush and whizzing about the place looking for gooseberry fool to do instead of avoiding them and just heading straight to the next main mission location. I'd have been happy with something slightly not as good as the original but just like the original this exceeded my expectations and then some.

AAAAARGH! How the strawberry float can they end it like that?!

Final fight was a bit meh, but you know who doing you know what was handled pretty well even though the overall impact was somewhat lessened by what happened a few moments before. Loved the ending cinematic though. And just as I was writing this the credits rolled and I got one last missed call

Just finished. It was the best possible way to end in my opinion but then again I like weird stuff. I never received a call after the credits. :?

He means the call which plays over the credits where Joker sings.

I did. Joker  Can't help but love the guy

I just finished watching Batman: Year one actually. Loved it, Bryan Cranston voicing Gordon was just perfect

Actually, Gordon in general kicked some serious ass. Well worth a watch, especially if you liked the comic version.

Sorry for the shamless pimpage, but my Batman Arkham City Campaign Guide (the side missions are being handled by someone else) is now live on the GamerGuides.com website.

Check it out (whilst it's still free!) and feedback is always appreciated :)

Started playing Arkham Asylum today and it's a bit wierd going backwards. I've been killed trying moves only possible in AC  :fp:

Still, enjoying this immensly now that I know how to play it better. :) Not sure if it's better than AC or not, but it's close.

The PC version doesn't appear to have any way to change the graphics settings. I don't mind that much since it looks fine anyway, but it seems a bit odd. :?

There is, but it's a seperate program, which is odd. I think it's called "launcher.exe" or something.

I finally got around to playing this last week. I'm pretty much near the end but have found it a tad disappointing to be honest. The city is absolutely incredible and it nails the feel of Batman protecting a city. The various gang elements is a nice touch and the baddies are used reasonably well. Its just the main story doesn't have the focus of the first game and it feels like the story was an after thought to the gameplay.

They have also gone absolutely mental with the collectables. I think Asylum got that about right but there is so much to collect here that I know I won't even bother attempting to scratch the surface. The Catwoman DLC is very enjoyable but far too short. Still a great game, but Asylum for me was the more polished package.

Cheers matey, i'll have a look for that.

I also came into this thread to say that Mister Freeze is a utter bellend on NG+. I've died so many times with him down to his last hit point. Getting him with the line launcher is a nightmare! :fp:

The Robin and Nightwing packs are 360 ms points this week. If you buy the two packs plus the Arkham City costume pack it works out to be 80 points cheaper than the bundle pack, which isn't much.

Also, focus on upgrading your combo skills first (critical hits, freeflow etc). It'll make your life easier as the game progresses. And pick up all trophies and destroy all destructables that are in your immediate path for easy XP boosts.

That and you'll feel like a total badass as you duff up large groups of baddies.

Just started this. I'm on my way to find the joker. I understand I'm still pretty much in the tutorial section but it seems a bit hand holdy, and yet the open nature of it is a bit daunting.

No doubt I just need to crack on and see more of it.

It was so long since I last played the original that I didn't really take much notice of the difference.

And yes, keep playing and the open world will feel less daunting. And as some of the previous posts say, spend points in combat and pick up the grappling hook upgrade.
