It really is a lovely book, Ploiper! I don't necessarily agree with some of the review assessments but, hey, that's always gonna be the case. The book is packed with great pictures and interesting bits of info.

The kickstarter for Sega Master System: A Visual Compendium is now live!

I've already got my support in for this project. I have the C64 and Amiga books in Bitmap Books' Visual Compendium series and they were both of excellent quality. I'm hugely fond of the Master System and I hope that many of the stretch goals can be hit (extra pages, more features, special ink printing and more). Press your finger here to take a look.

The Kickstarter campaign has passed the funding goal of £50K in twenty-four hours :toot: . I hope that this momentum continues so that the book can feature even more content!

Got the Zelda Encyclopedia last week. Only had a quick flick through it but it seems pretty good.

Has anyone read Ask Iwata yet? Tempted to pick up a copy but wanted to know what it’s like.

I haven't read it yet, IM, but it does look to be interesting. I don't know if the book is mainly Iwata responding to questions or if there is more general info, too.

It seems to be pieces from different places (interviews, Ask Iwata sessions) stitched together to show a narrative on what Iwata was like. Seems to be well received from the general fan base as well

I have the Amiga and C64 visual compendiums by Bitmap Books. They are really lovely, high quality affairs. I have barely spent any time actually enjoying them though. I must remedy that soon.

The Commodore ones really are great, kaz! I also have the Spectrum one (I was never really a Speccy player but the book brings back so many memories of those early micro computer years) and the Master System one - which is excellent but I need to spend some proper time on it, too!

I’ve just finished reading ‘Itchy, Tasty’ a crowdfunded book which declares itself as the ‘unofficial history of Resident Evil’ and it’s pretty good, yeah. Really quite thorough…but stops at Resident Evil 4 - no mention of 5, 6, Revelations 1&2 or 7. I find that a bit…well it’s not the full story, is it?
That Oasis documentary film did it, called Supersonic - it ends with them at Knebworth playing to half a million fans or whatever, but…well it’s not the full story is it? Rankled a bit.
Thank you for putting money towards it Mafro, nice one mate.

It does say on the back that it's the unofficial history of the first ten years of the franchise in its defence.

Presumably it'll be followed up by a second book on the last fifteen years, I know the author is really keen to keep it going.

^ Bitmap Books have announced an N64 entry in their visual compendium series! Oh boy, I'm very much up for this; the previous entries have been so good. Release date TBA.

Initial reaction was "skip it", but it actually could have some good stories etc from that platform. Will keep an open mind.

It annoys me that they chose Link for Z instead of Zelda.
