Yes I bloody do! I have quite a few art books ranging from Resi Evil to Metal Gear Solid, from Phoenix Wright to Devil May Cry and more!

Love 'em!

I'd love to see some of the Mario 64 concept art, as so very little is known about the Beta.

Love it to bits, though it breaks my heart somewhat when the final game betrays expectations established by concept art. It's only worked wonders for Metroid, mind--where my expectations were not only met, but exceeded quite extensively.

This is what I'd love to do as a profession but I'm told you need to know how to use 3d programmes such as 3D Studio Max as well as having a natural talent for art. So I'm really not sure how to go about getting into it. I would like to start learning 3d art programmes as I think it'd be an interesting thing to do but take ages ages to get half decent with it.

It's just a shame TV screens don't have the same viewing properties as paper so the final outcome on games is never as good.

I adore concept art. One day I hope we get a game that looks EXACTLY like the designs that we see

I don't like concept art. Well when you unlock it in games.

If you want to be a concept artist all you need to be is be a kick-ass artist, don't need any 3d skills at all. If you want to be computer games animator/ 3D modeller then you'll need to know how to use packages like Maya/3D Studio Max/SoftimageXSI.

Oh and really like concept art as well!

I think it varies from company to company to be honest. I've spoken to people from Rare (nearest games company to me) about it and they say the work is equally split between more traditional concept art and 3d art. Although I guess it doesn't stop me putting together a portfolio of my work on CD and sending it off to a few companies on the off chance. A disadvntage I have is that I'm not really qualified nor do I have any relevant experience I just have a natural knack for art and a creative imagination.

I think it's ace. Suzzopher posted some awesome stuff for a game that got canned earlier in the year.

I think it's more impressive for its artistic merit rather over what it represents in the game.

Final Fantasy series has some wicked concept art; brought out a lot more of the characters:

I'm not keen on large scale concept paintings that try to create a mood and a certain look but can be so broad that they aren't too distinctive.

I like all the workings out. I like when it's messy and simplified and sketchy and you realise the concept artists are human and not freaks. I like the ones for brightly coloured cartoon games, again for the reason above and because I prefer it, but there's little of that. You go onto concept art.org and it's all sci-fi and moody stuff. But after a while even though the quality is amazing you see the same designs just tweaked over and over again. They're not original and memorable, just strawberry floating good.

I'd love a Pikmin book.

It all makes me sad I can't think in 3 dimensions and do the same.

The Metroid Prime and Soul Calibur concept art unlockables in the games were so good I used to look at the constantly.
