So he's leaving without anything else lined up?

Have to assume it's to do with cash flow if 2 people are leaving without anything else lined up, surely?

On the plus side, Miller returned to the podcast this week and it was pretty good (recorded before Dave's announcement btw).

I wonder if some of it is to do with the main company that took over. Candy banana i think they are called.Tom created Videogamer so i was shocked that he announced he was leaving. I can only assume he had enough of it all and perhaps there were more background things going on that he didn't agree with.

Maybe it all just got a bit too exciting for him. His is the most boring man on earth after all.

I don't follow Videogamer anymore but I've just seen over on GAF that more people have left (Tom, Dave and one of the newbies)

Site must be on it's last legs

I feel for Alice. It was going so well and she merged with the team great, before everybody left. I'm sure she'll move on to great things though, should she also leave.

Yeah, Sam's off now too  He only joined about 3 months ago, wasn't it?

I'd love to know what's going on behind the scenes for it all to fall apart so suddenly.

Looks like James Orry is off as well. They must have sold the company at this point.

Surely if that had been the case, they wouldn't have been able to just abandon ship? I would've thought a new buyer would have some kind of clause in a contract that the Orry twins would need to oversee a smooth transition into new management? At this point, it's more likely that the site is just going to die, I'd have thought. Which I called when Jim and Burns first left.

If you bought a media company that mainly focuses on video and audio, would you keep them?

No but I'd get rid of them once I'd moved in and taken over properly, having made announcements for the future, etc. The way this is being handled doens't feel like a takeover at all to me.

Well yeah, I thought Candy Banana bought it earlier in the year, probably after they did well at the industry awards (Maybe the Patreon came soon after?). Can't believe the place has imploded so much since then.

EDIT: Yeah, actually it was March 2015: http://www.mcvuk.com/press-releases/rea ... na/0146316

Abandoning a sinking ship maybe?

Seems like they've just decided not to keep him on, by the looks of it.

You'd think with the rate they've been losing people so far, they'd be keen to keep anyone on.

Shame he's out of a job at this time of year. But he was unbearable for most of his stint.
