I'm tending towards Viva at the moment. I get the feeling Spore on DS is a little "Pokemonish", but I've only seen a couple of reviews and they both seem good buys. But I can only get one...I'm looking for convincing

From what I've seen of Spore, it looks to be a mixture of the PC game, Animal Crossing and Zelda! That sounds like it's made of win, to me.

Wierd someone has posted this question as I was about to come on here and do the same but with PC Spore vs 360 Pinata 2.. so.. which one?

Love the spore creature creator and the game sounds fun.. BUT Pinata sounds a lot more like what I hoped the first would be like and I like the sound of the vision cam extras.. choices choices..

Such a tough choice (PC Spore and 360 Viva wise). I would personally lean towards Spore, because to me it'll have more replay value. Then again, I don't know how I could choose between the two.

I'll probably get both eventually but only want to get one this week as otherwise one will sit unloved on my shelf for ages and probably get forgotten. I'm leaning to Spore to see if it lives up to the long development and amazing promise but VP2 just looks.. good somehow lol.

I guess Spore's cheaper and it's the first game in ages to come out that looks like it'll run decently on my heap-o-junk PC.

Viva DS all the way. Iv played both and Viva is brilliant while Spore is a load of garbage. Honestly people do not buy Spore its awful.

EDIT: 5 mins on each have me more interested in Viva so far. Spore looks confusing for now.
EDIT2: well so far Viva is the better game for me. Graphically it is very impressive, controls are very simple to understand. Spore looks cluttered at times, especially when designing your creature. saying that though, I've never been able to create something with 3 eyes, a scorpion tail, 1 T-rex style back leg and 1 normal leg and watch it lollop around the place like Spore has enabled me to do! I would hazard a guess that Spore is a bit Pokemon-esque, but I've never played Pokemon so i could be wrong!

A quick demo of both games to the guys in the office this morning got more favourable comments for Viva than Spore too.

I'd say get Viva.

I've not played either, but the reviews of Viva DS are very positive and Spore somewhat less so.

As for the proper versions my hand has been forced by the breakdown of both of my computers leaving me with only this relic for web browsing.

Spore on DS sounds pretty bad to me, not very good reviews all round.

Viva has had decent reviews...but Civ Rev is what I'd go for this week on DS.
