I have a set of straighteners which have started playing up. The temperature doesn't go to what I've set it to be, they lose heat, and don't work fantastic Real handy when I've got very difficult thick hair. Anyhoo. On the box it says Guaranteed for 3 years. I bought them 15 months ago (Something like that) and would like them replaced or exchanged or something, as they're not cutting it like they used to.

Only problem is, I don't have the receipt for them, saying when I bought them. I've found a bank statement that says I made a payment to Boots in East Kilbride where I bought them, but obviously doesn't specify what was bought. I don't think they've been available to buy for 3 years but I'm not sure.

Other than phoning up and hoping they'll be sympathetic and swap them for me, what can I do? I have no real proof of when I bought them, and can't afford to replace them just yet. But they should still work.

Help much appreciated. :)

Is it a manufacturer guarantee or boots guarantee?

Bank proof should be enough then, I imagine.

Give em a call.

My bank statement only says I spent however much in Boots that day. It doesn't specify what it was I bought.

Like I say, Give em a ring and ask for a new one. If they ask for proof then tell em you got a bank statement. If they dont accept that, hang up and start again.

Or find a reciept.
