I was bothered at the time. Not that I was especially worried.

Then A-Levels.

Then degree. Two post-graduates since.

Basically, you're only as good as your last qualification. Even then, people are usually interested only in your experience and how you sell yourself.

I've never cared about my results in any exams really. Never revised at all apart from for the driving exam.

I've never ever had anyone ask to see my certificates/qualifications either. I literally could have said I got A*s across the board and nobody would have been the wiser

I didnt take them seriously at all & in a way i wish i did looking back on how i was at school on my RE test me and 3 friends went bowling for the day instead. When we had RE a few days later the teacher gave us evils all thru the lesson for not showing up he was not impressed.

I recently found my GCSE results and realised I'd been inadvertently exaggerating a few of my grades (English, Maths and French) for nearly 20 years.

I didn't care much at the time and got 4A* 5A B. Did a bit of revision etc but nothing strenuous (hence the B). More or less forgot about them until I had to get my certificates replaced; was a good thing I did, as my graduate job asked for certificates proving them.

For RE nearly all my friends failed or got F, G etc because they just slept or did nothing. I just tried and wrote mostly my own opinions and got a B in the exam.

In ICT we were told we couldn't get more than a C because of the stuff we had covered because they strawberry floated up and we had about 4 different teachers. Got a B anyway, same story. Those were my worst grades.

So yeah, just tried and they weren't hard but good to accomplish at the time. It's kind of remarkable as it turns out the entire time I had massive learning difficulties while my brother who was diagnosed dyslexic said he hated school and teachers and didn't work. I probably did 3 times as well just because it didn't have a shite attitude while I quietly sussed out everything was contrived and fairly meaningless. The whole fear thing was ridiculous.

My A in maths is probably, to this day, my finest hour in terms of being graded for stuff. God knows how I did it, I don't even know the 7 times table.

Despite hating the subject with a passion my proudest grade is arguably my C in Resistant Materials as throughout years 10 and 11 my teacher seemed to take pleasure in telling me how I had no chance of passing. In fact even when I collected my results he had the nerve to make snarky comments on how he had got me through the exam.

I wanted to do well in that I like to be the best I can when I do something. But I had no plans of going to uni so i never have a toss about that side of things.

I didnt worry.

Despite not revising knew I'd do ok and I did. 5 Bs and 3 Cs. (This was 20 years ago!)

I suppose part of me looks back and thinks if I'd have put a bit more work in I could have got a few As but then again it doesnt really matter.

Didn't care about them, didn't turn up for some, went to sleep in others. Not the best of decisions really.

I went to secondary school in England after finishing primary school in Scotland. Because of the difference (year 7 in Scotland being your last year in primary school but in England it being your first year of secondary school) I struggled in a few topics that I had never covered but I was put in the top set for everything. 4 years at the worst period for a bad secondary school saw me fall into mediocrity and leave with one C and handful of D's. Obviously not entirely the school's fault butI know I could have done better but just didn't see the point at the time.

I was disappointed to be honest as I had one of four training positions at Barclays. I got over it by getting pissed and pulling a girl I really fancied.

In hindsight I'm glad I completely strawberry floated my GCSE's rather than scraping through. I regret that I didn't get the chance to go to sixth form and university but having to get a job and grow up was the best thing for me at the time.

I'll be honest I didn't give a gooseberry fool about your GCSE results either.

I cared about mine, had to resit maths during my A levels as I got an E :slol: got a C in the end, but other than that I did okay.

I gave a gooseberry fool about my GCSE results, definitely. That was back when I was proper terrified of the consequences of not doing well, and before I learned how to coast.

I think I gave significantly less of a gooseberry fool by the time I got round to finishing my degree, which is why I ended up have to resit half of my final exams. :shifty:

I don't really remember getting mine, but I got the scores I was predicted (couple of As, some Bs and then a C in maths). I do remember some of the proper boffs getting upset at not getting all A*s like a bunch of pricks, there was a Chinese kid who cried, probably because he was going to get beaten when he got home

Ultimately so long as I got the grades to get into 6th form I didn't really give a toss. I give even less of a toss now, what with A-levels and a degree on my CV, not that they've ever come in useful...
