Cool, I'll bear that in mind.

Are the unlocks on a skill tree, or are they all just open once you've got enough followers? I've seen a few trailers highlighting ghost/trickster/and whatever they call the shooty playstyle ways of playing, but are they actual set progressions, or just a loose idea about how you can choose to play?

Theres like 6 different branches focusing on different things (weapon handling, vehicle hacking, drone upgrades etc) and each upgrade is just tagged with the playstyles. So you're not forced to specialise in one playstyle.

The only way things are locked off is that soe of them require you to get "tech" in the world. But it shows you where it is on the map.

Why would the pre-load not include the High-res texture pack. :x

Bloody hell. Anyone done the mission where you hack a woman's phone call and listen in on how all her bills have gone up at once? It starts a mission which eventually leads to a rather grim situation. Not the first I've encountered of its kind in WD2, but they ramped up the grim levels for this one. Sad stuff.

What you eventually witness during the mission:

People responsible are trying to drive all the poor residents out by jacking up their bills so they can move in and gentrify the area. One guy loses the will to carry on, decides to gas himself in his garage.

I tried to save him but I couldn't. :(

:(

Though I got someone in there with him, I have no idea if he survived.

Black Friday discounting also had a major impact on Watch Dogs 2. The game had a disappointing launch last week, but sales actually increased in its second week, boosted by some mild discounting on the title. It's good news for Ubisoft's game, as its install base is now in-line with the performance of recent Assassin's Creed titles.

The side missions in this are really good. Even just the taxi missions. Daredevil Liv!

They've got the tone spot on, it commentates on society but not in a way that makes the world feel fake (like GTA) and it's really funny while still being heartfelt. If any of you have a chance, play saints row 2, do, it has a very similar tone to this. Even down to taking down a big business.

I always end up disliking the world of GTA, because they always go way too far with the jokes and satire, that the world doesn't feel real, and as such neither do the characters.

I've really enjoyed the few hours I've spent with this so far. The tone is perfect, not taking itself anything like as seriously as GTA attempts to, and simultaneously being much funnier by being less overly ridiculous than GTA when it tries to do that, too. The characters are instantly likeable and relatable, and whilst they're hardly free of stereotypical taxis, they don't feel like facsimiles of other characters ripped straight from film or TV.

One irritation so far though, was when you steal the Cyber driver car. The police felt impossible to shake off on the chase. The cars were always faster than you, and the helicopters seemed able to follow you anywhere, turning on a sixpence to stay right on top of you at all times. I failed a few times to escape until I decided to abandon the car and run away on foot. The police instantly lost track of me, the choppers couldn't spot me and drifted off, and the game didn't even chastise me for leaving the vehicle. Once I'd lost the police, I strolled back to where I'd left the car, which the police hadn't bothered to return, despite that being the reason for the chase, and rolled it to the garage to compete the mission.

That's some quality thinking outside the box there  Wish I'd thought of it.

Game introduced a character I wanted to punch in face. Not the beardy antagonist, though he'd get a smack as well.

The hacker for hire who locks DedSec's app out :x I found her hack to be kind of cute actually, but then I heard her talk on the video/in person, she also hit the tattoo artist :ffffffffffuuuuuuuuu: And so I hope I get to strawberry float her gooseberry fool up one way or another. (More so than I have done already.)

Ah okay, well that makes sense, you're meant to hate her.

I think she's an interesting character though. Very androgynous, you don't see that much in western games.

I couldn't agree more with this piece about funds ruining the multiplayer aspect of the game, and basically having no place in the game at all, besides being a mandating inclusion because GTA does.

Nothing spoils what should be a cat and mouse, hide and seek experience, quicker than one party shooting the other to death. Although I did have great fun doing one invasion, where the other player panicked, and shot an NPC, resulting in a massive shoot out with the police, while I hid round a corner, stealing all their data.

Yet another game to (positively) take me by surpise this year. Completed and thoroughly enjoyed! I was think I was most pleased about the fact that there wasn't a betrayal type reveal at the end, which the Sitara/Raymond subplot seemed to be foreshadowing. Looking forward to WD3 and Ubi's next effort. That isn't Steep.

After several completely ineffective attempts at stopping someone hacking me i turned the online stuff off, i'm fed up of being a follower pinata for others to plunder with impunity.

Yeah, but if you leave it on, and just let people hack all your things (drink all your booze), you don't have to do anything, and it gives you followers, too.
