Tell me words!

Eurogamer wrote:What makes Wattam such a joy is that everything is alive. The plots of land are alive. The sushi is alive. The turntables, lawnmowers, flowers and rainclouds are alive. Even the poop is alive. And every character has their own unique moves. A golden lawnmower cuts grass and turns the clippings into coins, the turntable is the life of the party encouraging all those in its vicinity to get jiggy with it, while the sushi can jump and float using its sashimi as a hang-glider. From what I can gather, none of this is especially necessary in practical terms. But that's what makes it oh so necessary.

DenofGeek wrote:The objective, as we understand it, is to walk around the play area, hold hands with the various objects and characters within it (clouds, flowers, etc) and blow yourself up. A side-mission seems to involve mowing grass.

Polygon wrote:Holding hands is a big part of the experience. You can play as both a regular poop and a solid gold poop.

I want to poop now!

Hold on until early 2016!

Noby noby boy is now back to Earth!

I'm gonna have to boot it up tonight and see this. Such a cool, strange game.

On to Wattam!*

* It's weird how Noby's journey took around six years and yet it completed just prior to the launch of Wattam...

Hmmn. Nothing. Just silence. I'm sure this was meant to arrive in January but there doesn't seem to have been any news anywhere.

There is no direct news but it looks like there is still a developer blog being updated sporadically on Twitter.

Thanks for the heads-up, SpaceJ. It looks like the game is still in development... having enjoyed Noby Noby Boy I'm looking forward to experiencing something similarly crazy!

Oh man I loved Noby Noby Boy, one of the weirdest but also most charming games I've ever played.

So... Sony has decided not to publish the game (boo!) but Annapurna Interactive has picked up the rights (hoorah!) and apparently it's gonna launch in 2018.

We will eventually be able to hold hands and do weird stuff :toot: .

With Wattam featuring on the latest cover of Edge magazine, I'm wondering what format it will appear on. With Sony no longer supporting the title I hope it hasn't gone PC-only.

Seems like a game very much at home on PlayStation, I would still guess a PS4 release. Still hyped

I think we're okay, Orange - the game was shown at the PSX show in December!

Edit: Uhm... that seems the be an old vid. But the game really isn't vapourware... Metro GameCentral have spoken to the producer!

KT: For me, art is like a very fancy thing for rich people.

GC: That seems a very negative view.

KT: [laughs] Well, I am a very negative person.

GC: You wanted to solve the issue of man’s inhumanity to man?

KT: [laughs] By making a video game!

KT: I know my game is not for everyone. I don’t like to set a target, like this game is for teenagers or men of a certain age. I hate that idea.

GC: But technically it’s a game for anyone, because it’s very easy to play.

KT: But definitely people who like shooters won’t like this game.

GC: Is this going to be a one-off or do you want to make lots more games after this?

KT: Yeah, possibly. Making video games is the only thing I can do.

KT: Why do you like Animal Crossing?

GC: It was just the first mainstream non-violent game that came to mind.

KT: [laughs] It’s just shopping and doing chores…

GC: It has been a pleasure to meet you. I’m a great admirer of your work. [attempts to leave]

KT: Thank you. Are you enjoying E3?

GC: Yes, I think so.

KT: Which game is your favourite so far this E3?

GC: What, other than Wattam?

KT: [laughs] Yeah, yeah.

GC: Well, nothing you’d like I think, but maybe Cyberpunk 2077.

KT: Did you play it?

GC: You can’t play it, just watch a 50 minute demo. They don’t exactly say but it looks like it’s going to be running on next gen consoles.

KT: Oh. [laughs] So it is just about the graphics?

GC: Well, not just… Look, you asked me!

KT: [laughs]

This man is a treasure
