That's basically what I meant by a synoptic OP. A link to the last thread and a brief bullet point list of what people were discussing, along with the usual supporter list stuff. There are 400 pages in this season's Premier League thread, and about 250 in the Football League thread. That works out at about sixty pages per thread over a ten month season. The threads are nowhere near as active as they used to be either, we used to get about 1400 pages just in the Premier League thread.

I'll try and remember to add links to the new one from now and go back and add some to ones I've made.

However all I'm doing is taking the original op I have no intention of running the thread so of people what to take over anythread feel free to ask for it from a mod I'm just boasting through the long threads to get them remade fast.

Surely in an infinity war there would be no end?

While we are in the process of recreating threads... will the lock status be removed? Just thinking re: thread necro-ing.

What do you mean?

Once the replacement is made and the old one is locked a D stays locked

Well if we are locking a whole bunch of threads because they are over 100 pages , could we not just lock all 'old' threads at the same time to stop thread necro-ing.

One of the reasons for not doing that was because we didn't want to misconstrue the idea that the locked threads were garbage. May as well do it now and Rip off the plaster while we are thread locking.

Thanks for the feedback. I think the more semantically valid approach is to unlock them as they're moved into the Archive. I will mass-unlock all threads in the Archive at some point.

I agree, the opposite extreme does not apply. Maybe if you constantly necro threads you get a boobie award?

Man, this weird bug that's not going to last read post is strawberry floating annoying and the 100 page things isn't the trigger as I get it in the Neogaf thread and that's 78 pages. Is there any fix on the horizon. Or is it going to be a case of everytime someone notices it the topics get shorter?

I don't really know how to fix it. All I know is that the problem becomes more prominent in some longer threads compared to many shorter threads.

I was talking about this thread having issues with not going to the latest unread post, even though it isn't at 100 pages yet.

I also got it in a thread earlier, and it was around the 50-page mark.
