Anyway, this is the FEgate thread, the place to post your opinion on why the ban on magazine scans and not music videos, television show links etc is completely stupid is... well I don't know, there doesn't appear to be a thread for it. So maybe we should make one where I can complain that, as a musician, I want a ban on posting music videos/songs as it's 'my industry' and it makes my bottom wet when I see it being pirated. Maybe those in the television business can get on their soap box about links to programs like The Wire, Lost, Heroes etc.

Then again, I doubt it, because for some reason the only people deserving of the 'courtesy' that Eighthours keeps going on about seem to be those who work for Future.

Well, I've spent the afternoon ~~working hard~~ reading all 25 pages of this...

I'd like to say, I thought it was ChalkitDown from the first page.

A very suspicious act, to post a list of suspects and cross your own name off first!

i'm just glad it hasn't been settled yet* so that i was able to point my figure!

*following the rule of ignoring all those who claimed it was them, obviously.

A wild Future Publishing's Legal Team has appeared, causing the thread to be removed. Hopefully we can agree to close the issue for the moment, and return to it in a few days once we've sorted things out with the Future bods.

Gonna call that as being an eighthours/hoc alt, but I've complied and removed the links. Basically if I was looking at a forum hosting content from my firm then:

a) I wouldn't need to register to see the violation, nor to contact the forum administrator
b) If I did register I wouldn't call myself "legal team"

Well the IP traces back to Future HQ, and the email they signed up is from them too. It's an impressive trick if they managed to pull it off, but for the moment we're just playing it safe.

They've also been signing up to other forums and PM'img specific members about the recent Batman scans, rather than going for the website hosts themselves. Based on that, it could be a coincidence, but we'll see what happens when Steve gets online.
