Unfortunately 5th is based on a small number of cars testing. Kimi will be fine though, beating HRT in some races I suspect.

Yeah with only 1 car from each manufacturer a 5th actually means 10th. We can also assume that the Ferrari and McLaren will be ahead so that 10th is actually 14th.

In all seriousness i can see Kimi getting a win this year if the conditions are right (he's mighty at Spa).

I can also see Schumacher getting a podium or two this year.

The right conditions would need to be a lot of the top cars retiring. Last year podiums were basically locked out to all cars other than Red Bull, Mclaren and Ferrari. Renault would need a serious leap in performance for Kimi to win a race.

We should do a predictions competition for the season ahead for a little bit of fun.

I was thinking we should do a sort of fantasy league / fantasy football style thing where you pick 2 or 3 drivers with a set budget. Can you do that?

Surely someone somewhere must be running something web based we can sign up to?

The Sky F1 advert says the F1 channel is free for all HD subscribers so will I be getting F1 even though I don't have a sports package? That seems like an overly generous offer for sky.

Yup. Free for anyone who buys the Sports or HD packs. Of course, as they're charging £10 extra for HD anyway you'd expect them to be generous with adding new HD channels.

Although the cynic in me says that within a couple of seasons it will require the Sky Sports sub. Certainly after 2018 when the current deal ends I think Sky will mop up full coverage.

Probably, but at least we can enjoy it this year.
Maybe for 2013 we will just have to watch it on Netflix (in 2016).
