I don't care about that. The thing Ferrari must, must, must, must do is make a more stable car. Last year's car was too temperamental; it was too susceptible to massive downturns in performance due to rain, lower temperatures, non-perfect setups etc.

At it's potential, it was the fastest car, but most of the time you don't setup the car perfectly and don't get perfect weather.

I really, really hope they've sorted that aspect out.

The narrow rear wing does look very odd, will all the cars look that way this year due to new F1 specifications?

Force India VJM02 Revealed

Some tool on the web team uploaded their 09 calendar thing early, and these were included. It's probably the 09 livery overlaid on the 08 car, but it looks like they will be going for an Indian flag appearance of the car with orange and green (instead of red).

That Force India looks like CGI to me, I could be wrong.

I do wonder whether Ferrari's problems in the wet last year were more down to the drivers. I'm not saying Kimi and Massa are bad wet weather drivers, but perhaps they lack the ability to set the car up for the rain. They never had a problem before when Schumacher was there, infact they had a massive advantage (Schumacher being the only Bridgestone runner to keep up with the Michelin cars at China 06).

Anyway, I think Ferrari's main problem this year is to solve the reliability problems as that is where they lost the title. I'm nervous for them though, as the pre-season vibes coming from the team sound alarmingly like 2005 and 2006 where they were unprepared at the start of the season. Historically they always seem the worst top team at adjusting to change.

EDIT: I agree with Pancake, the wings looks great. The rear wing reminds me of those over the top ones from the 70s! They look like proper F1 cars now, none of this silly winglet stuff.

EDIT 2:

2009 FIA Formula One World Championship - Entry List

1. Lewis Hamilton (GBR/McLaren Mercedes)
2. Heikki Kovalainen (FIN/McLaren Mercedes)
3. Kimi Raikkonen (FIN/Ferrari)
4. Felipe Massa (BRA/Ferrari)
5. Robert Kubica (POL/BMW Sauber)
6. Nick Heidfeld (GER/BMW Sauber)
7. Fernando Alonso (ESP/Renault)
8. Nelson Piquet (BRA/Renault)
9. Jarno Trulli (ITA/Toyota)
10. Timo Glock (GER/Toyota)
11. Sebastien Buemi (SUI/Toro Rosso Ferrari)
12. TBA (Toro Rosso Ferrari)
14. Mark Webber (AUS/Red Bull Renault)
15. Sebastian Vettel (GER/Red Bull Renault)
16. Nico Rosberg (GER/Williams Toyota)
17. Kazuki Nakajima(JPN/Williams Toyota)
18. TBA (Honda)
19. TBA (Honda)
20. Adrian Sutil (GER/Force India Mercedes)
21. Giancarlo Fisichella (ITA/Force India Mercedes.)

I don't get why Kimi is number 3. Surely that should be Massa?

Hmm...

If you look the picture from the previous page, it's Massa in the F60 with No.3 on the front nose. :?

Thanks for forcing me to read the list multiple times, dazzled as to how there could be 21 drivers. :fp:

(Even though it's whatever site's fault)

Well spotted BOR, looks like the FIA have got the numbers wrong!

I liked it more back when the car number rules weren't so tight and Ferrari could race with the old 27 and 28s.

13 is considered unlucky, so no driver is assigned it. Been the same for some seasons.

I thought the car numbers were in order with the constructors championship which Ferrari won did they not? :? Why doesn't Massa have 1?

And so the squabbling of positions begins again!

It is a little bit of a mess that the FIA created. Historically, the reigning champion was always assigned the number 1. The other teams were then free to pick their numbers in any order (I think the highest finishing teams had first pick and 27 and 28 were sort of reserved for Ferrari after Villenueve was killed). Around 1996 the FIA decided to smarten things up and award the numbers in order of the constructors standing of the previous year. The only exception is that the number 1 is reserved for the World Drivers champion due to the historical significance, and that no driver that wasn't the world champion felt they had the right to hold that number. The number 1 in F1 is kind of like the Yellow Jersey in the Tour De France.

Personally I'd rather see the numbers awarded in order of the drivers finishing positions rather than constructors. Having said that, the numbers are barely noticable on the TV these days as the sponsors have got priority.

Funny you should say that but I'm sure I read somewhere speculation that Ferrari wanted the system pulled, but BMW insisted it had to be allowed as they had invested the most money in it. Under the current economic climate Max had to give way to BMW as he couldn't risk losing another team.

James Allen for one seems to think BMW will start the year with quite an advantage. Personally I'm hoping for Williams to strike gold.

I'm hoping Honda do well. Will help with selling the team on.
