It's been around 20 degrees for the last two weeks in Glasgow. i can't cope. I don't care for drinking in the park and getting the washing dry anymore. Just a little breeze or a night I can sleep through.

Shouldn't complain really, 5 weeks in Asia in peak summer was a terrible idea.

I live in Northampton but was away in Brighton for the storm so missed it completely. Lots of flash flooding around the town as the drains couldn’t cope.

Surprised that more people haven't been posting in here recently - it's been glorious weather here over the weekend! :datass:

To be fair other than the odd day here and there it's been pretty great weather all month. Supposed to really heat up over the next week as well, bring on the struggle!

I just got back from Almeria, and it genuinely feels worse here.

To make matters worse, I had to get a new car a few weeks ago, and the AC doesn't work

It's gonna be super-hot in the London / south east area this week; 27/28 C. My living room has already hit 27C / 81F and that's with the curtains pulled :dread: .

The sun hates me, and hats always blow off my head. I'm going to be as red as a lobster by The end of today. The only good thing heat waves are for (for me) are thunder storms.

28 here.

Now for an evening of the sun shining directly into the room (it's west facing), i try and block it out with thermal curtains but there's nothing much i can really do to stop it.

28 here at the moment, down to 24 next few days. From Friday though five consecutive days of 32-34. Needless to say AC is a necessity in NYC in the summer (it also can be a necessity in the winter ridiculously as heating is centrally controlled in many apts and they turn it to full blast)

The only saving grace is that humidity levels don't look too bad for the week. Last year we had a week of weather like this but the humidity was also awful.

The only solution really to the sun shining directly into your room is external shutters. The front of my house, where my bedroom is also faces west so i get the sun at the end of the day, meaning it heats up when right before you want to go to bed, making my room the hottest in the house. However external shutters seems to be a rarity in this country. They are very common across Europe and are fantastic but here your house would look odd with them as no one uses them.
