Yeah, in south London it's cloudy, heavy and still so hot (29c) :dread: .

Bit of cloud cover here this morning but the sun's right back out now. We're due some rain on Thursday allegedly, think it'll be the first in a month.

A touch more overcast here today but no less hot. Car felt even hotter than ever on the drive home:

London felt cooler today.

Nice breeze through the windows too.

Northern line was unpleasant as always. Hot and humid. Wish it was air conditioned like the District line.

Apparently the roof of my local bus station melted over the weekend

Was definitely cooler round my way today, nice bit of cloud too. There is light at the end of the tunnel!

I could not have done that, for me it has to be a shady spot or not at all.

Being sat just before Abbey for the start of the F1 was pretty special though!

I must admit, i am a little jealous, but in that level of heat i don't think i would have been able to properly enjoy it.

I thought I'd have to get myself to an F1 race at some point, a friend said a while back about going so I though why not? Was a fantastic experience though, although after 3 days of being sat in intense heat I was ready to head home, still something I wouldn't mind repeating at some point in the future, even if just for the race day and make a full day out of it by stopping behind after, seeing all the podium stuff and doing the track walk. Sadly we both had to be back at work early today so we opted for the leg it method afterwards, only stuck in traffic for an hour this way

Only an hour? The British GP used to involve a 3 hour wait just to exit the car park! I guess they've had to improve their traffic management, though back when i was attending race meetings, the dual carriageway A43 didn't even exist, you'd end up heading up dadford road to a t junction which was controlled by a single policeman wearing a face mask.

As soon as Vettel crossed the line we left, started jogging (which was an awful idea considering the weather!) which turned into a very quick walk, we'd already packed up/checked out of our campsite in the morning so I think we did beat the bulk of the traffic thankfully. Not sure if this ahs been the case before but they had both sides of the A43 heading in the same direction and merging before a roundabout ( I think the one onto the A5?) so that probably helped things move along nicely.

I used to head in the opposite direction, towards the M40, and it would be bumper to bumper for miles and miles along the then single carriageway.

There's an esso garage just before you get to the M40, and we used to turn off there and head down to Bicester as it would bypass a lot of the queues (also, the old road used to pass the garage on the other side, they moved the roundabout 100 yards across to where it is now).

Yep.
It's pissing me right off :x .
It's a sun facing room with a massive window so just gets insanely warm.

I feel your struggle, Peter - my living room has a window that gets sun for nearly all of the day and it does get so hot. I leave the curtains closed to shut out the sun; it does help to reduce the temperature just a little bit so you could try that.

Have you tried those tinted UV window stickers? They're supposed to reflect most of the heat from the sun or whatever.

I've considered them in the past, but it would have been pretty pricey to cover the whole window in my living room.
