Astonishing ending.

Got really angry with my mate when I asked him if he liked the show and he said
"Yeah, it's alright."

:fp:
I called him some very unpleasant names.

Up to 1x05

I was wrong when I said 2 parks, wasn't it? They're just showing events from more than 1 timeline (Delores memories have been bleeding together...)

So William and his friend (does he have a name) are totally much earlier in events...they've mentioning buying the park from the 2 chaps...which Ford said was years ago...30-35 years right?

Plus they've run into a Lawrence when Ed Harris has just killed him (Not sure how that helped Teddy...does Host blood work that way?)...although that could also support 2 parks/multiple versions of hosts...

Trying to keep track of what Delores you're seeing and what she's experiencing/remembering is getting confusing.

I thought the talks between Delores/Bernard might actually be between Delores/Arnold (and Bernard is a host copy) but then they referenced "present" Ford conversations with Delores, so that put the kabosh on that theory.

No idea what's happening with Maeve...she seems to be breaking out more than Delores (who I assumed was supposed to be "the star")

William's future brother in law is Logan.

1x10
- It managed to be a satisfying finale even if literally every single plot twist had been guessed in advance.

-I laughed at Steven Ogg and Ed Harris' joy at the murders.
- Samuraiworld! :o
-Hopkins was excellent as Ford but I think it would cheapen his arc if he returns next season. I won't complain though.
-Literally no mention or sighting of Hemsworth or Elsie. Are we to assume they're both dead?

A very strong first season and now we wait until 2018. :simper:

I think the fact that all the twists were worked out in advance helps to show how well the show is made and written. While it diminishes their impact, I'd rather that than twists coming out of nowhere for the sake of having a twist.

I agree having Ford come back would cheapen his sacrifice slightly, but he's so good I would easily get over it. I think the real Ford will stay dead, but I wouldn't bet against a host Ford appearing at some point. That's one of the beauties of this show, is that with various timelines, host resurrections and host versions of people, there are a lot of doors open for bringing characters back.

Also, did they show Ed Harris die? I remember him getting shot in the shoulder but don't remember seeing him actually die. I'd like to see him back, although I'm not sure where his character would go from here. I think one thing they need to do in the next season is make some more prominent human characters, there's not many left at this point.

Yeah that's something I liked about this show, you can work stuff out if you're really paying attention.

They showed a flashback of Bernard killing Elsie when he was accessing his memory in episode 9. Who knows what's happened to the crap Hemsworth brother. Wasn't very clear if it was part of the new narrative or something unrelated. Would be interesting if they were somehow "free" separate from the rest of the hosts.

At the time I thought that flashback was ambiguous enough that it could go either way.

I think Hopkins will oversee the New Park but from the shadows. He'll want Dolores to be the figurehead. I don't think Elsie is dead (didn't Bernard put her in a choke hold) - I think she and Hemsworth are being offered the chance to get onside with the new narrative or be killed and replaced with hosts of themselves.

Just finished it, absolutely excellent. Glad I mainly avoided this thread's (correct) theories

Up there with some of the best tv(I'm talking breaking bad, justified and game of thrones at their best) that I've ever seen, simply astonishing. I actually got embarrassed with the whole man in black reveal, I imagined that I was the only person in the world too slow to see it coming, me a dufus doh!

No idea if they can match those standards for series two but I'll have my fingers crossed.

Do you all think Mauve's escape is taking place at the same time as Ford's retirement speech/killing? Or is it in a third time?

Same time (day anyway), as the whole point was to distract the security whilst the other 'livestock' are sent back into the park.
