Uh, yeah. Pretty much as the thread title says, really.

I have been cutting back on my soft (fuzzy) drink intake. I felt that I was drinking too many fizzy drinks and, even though I only drink the "diet" versions, I wanted to cut back a bit. I was regularly drinking three cans a day. I don't drink a lot of alcohol; rarely at home and really only if I visit friends or when I go out for the evening.

So, I've been switching to fruit (squash and water) drinks alongside my usual tea. Weirdly, I think I kinda had withdrawal symptoms the first few days :o :fp: . But now, nine days in, it's not so bad. I hope I can stick with it.

How about you?

PS I may not have the past count to pull this off etc.

Milk mostly. During my teen years I was often downing 2-4 pints a day, but now it's usually 1-2.

I probs tuck away half-a-pint of milk a day, Laga; most of that with my cereal :) . Two pints a day sounds like quite a lot... but I guess it's healthy?

Blimey! Whiskey and pickle... that's quite a drink to be having regularly, darkside!

When it comes to non-alcohol,

Water, Rocks cordials with sparkling water, Sainsbury's Diet Coke, Pukka and Clipper teas, milk/protein shakes, and various fruit juices. Tend to lay off the smoothies these days because depending on who you believe they don't actually do you any good.

Usually have a few coffees per week too but I've switched to making it from scratch when at home. Once you have a French Press it isn't as time consuming as you perhaps think...

Wine (red/white/sparkling)
Ale
Coke Zero
Water

In that order of preference, although to be honest most of the time I'd pick water over Coke Zero.

I guess that's the thing; no matter what you drink, there is someone saying that it's bad for you! Judging by the responses so far, most GRcadians seem to have a pretty good mix. Perhaps the adage "everything in moderation" applies here?

How could I forget tea and coffee?! :fp:

I drink proper coffee and lots of different types of herbal tea. I also drink regular tea.

I've never understood how people get through bottles of fizzy drink in a day. I've got a bottle in my cupboard that's been there for months!
Just water, squash, fruit juice, tea for me usually.

I drink Tea and Water (need to drink more, this is rarer than Tea) most of the day and a glass of apple juice when I get home.

I used to love Coke Zero but this new version is a load of insipid gooseberry fool.

Yorkshire Tea. I'll occasionally have a J20 or similar soft drink if I'm out. But yeah, usually just the tea. About ten a day.

Water at home and if I'm buying lunch at work or just wanting to drink something. Probably drink 4 litres a day.

Coffee, no sugar (extra milky because it masks the taste of instant coffee and means I don't have to wait ages to drink it) in the morning before work. Also before a gym session. Occasionally during the work day if I'm feeling really tired. Never buy ridiculous Starbucks or similar. So many calories in those drinks it's basically like eating a chocolate bar.

Soft drinks only when at somewhere like Nandos where it's unlimited. I can hardly tell the difference between normal and diet versions so just choose diet.

Alcohol. Only if it's a night out, don't drink at home, don't see the point. Heineken or Peroni or a cider usually. If spirits, Rum and ginger beer or coke.

I try and stick to water as much as possible as I've managed to lose quite a bit of weight over the last year (3 stone) and would like to keep it that way. Calories in the form of liquids are way too easy to consume without even realising how much extra calories are being consumed.

Coffee and water.

Anything else (alcohol, Earl Grey tea) is a rarity.

Nice work, GD. I used to be good at drinking lots of water and I'm gonna try and get back to that.

So far, it seems that - generally - GRcadians drink pretty healthily :toot: .

I've also swapped out Red Bull/Energy drinks for this brand called Scheckters. I always wondered if there was a natural replacement & it turns out there is. Tastes better too & does just a good a job of keeping me awake.

Tea
Whiskey
Started making banana and peanut butter smoothies
Cider, but I don't really like it
