Maybe it does need an exclusive racing game.

I'd argue against bunching games into 3rd Person as a genre though, I don't think you could say that a 3rd Person shooter could bare the slightest gameplay resemblance to something like say Bloodborne.

An exclusive cricket/rugby hybrid game is clearly what the PS4 really needs though.

I don't see why it needs exclusives, good games are good games regardless of being exclusive. Plus the PS4 versions are normally better.

A proper 3D platforming game. It's what last gen and this gen sorely lacked. Thankfully some of the thirst has been slighty less due to the HD re-releases of Sly Cooper/Jax/Ratchet and Clank, but I don't count them as a proper 3D platforming game really.

I've got to admit this is the first time I've ever seen a thread based on Sony lacking IP.

I mean, that's bat-shit insane, isn't it?

Plus there's more games on PS4 than XBO...with more niche titles.

In videogames, 4 4s are less than 2 7s.

They've got plenty of IP, they just aren't using it all.

Pretty much everyone I speak to agrees that Microsoft's console exclusive line-up to date is both better and covers more bases than Sony's.

I don't want to make this about sales, but...

Don't current console and multiplat title sales suggest lack of genre diversity (not saying that is or isn't the case) to be not all that important?

Anyway. A decent (real time) strategy game or a space/air combat gave would be awesome. I'm suffering from overload of FPS/TPS and open world adventures.
