YES I KNOW, but my laptop has a gooseberry fool one. If I got a better one it would sound better. Isn't that right?

SOmething like this would be good http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/Creative-Sound-Blaster-Play-USB-Sound-Card/19758918/
But would it even be better than my laptops silly one?

Probably. Just strawberry floating buy a USB headset :fp: The other bonus is I find USB leads are a bit more sturdy than 3.5mm jacks.

manny, how do you propose to fit this sound card into the laptop? Have you determined the interface and support for the card? No of course you havent.

So, you must be talking about a usb sound dongle (that isnt a sound card), strawberry float that, just buy a usb headset and spend the free cash on haribos or a lap dance.

Did you even see my link? I thought it might be smart to buy some headsets without a USB (because you said they were better), then buy a cheap external USB soundcard. Later down the road I will then have the option to get a "proper" sound card.

It's not my fault, you are all saying different things. Get a USB headset, don't get a USB headset. You need a soundcard, you don't need a soundcard.

On a sidenote my corsiar HS1's have decided to fail on me! sound keeps becoming garbled and if i turn my head slightly left they just stop working! think a wire inside has gone! sent a RMA to corsair as they got a few months left till they are out of warranty. Very annoying!

Yes, but if I get a soundcard they will sound better. And if the soundcards are cheap, why not?
You are clearly the dense one, you say the same things over and over again. I am not even considering what headphones to get anymore. I am just interested if a cheap sound card will make the headphones sound better than my laptops motherboard one.

A good soundcard will not make gooseberry fool headphones sound better. My advice is sound, I know my stuff, and yet you keep disregarding what I'm saying.

Get a pair of Corsair 1300s, you don't need a soundcard.

I take it you don't know then. Which is fine, I can't seem to find much information on sound cards anywhere.

Maybe if I feel like it I will just get a cheap one at some stage, and see if it makes the headphones sound better or not.
