The ones at Centre Parcs are always good! Outdoor rapids are great fun!

As for normal pools: Loughborough Uni pool is pretty sweet. 50m with a movable centre to turn it into 25m pool and changeable floor depth as well!

As a kid, The Pyramids in Portsmouth was the best swimming pool ever. The whole of Southsea was like a kids dream. A beach, a huge playing field, amusement park, sealife center, ICE CREAM but best of all The Pyramids.

It had three snaking slides which you usually had to queue for. Three seperate pools in one giant room but the best one had a wave machine that went off every so often, hurling you around the pool. It was the greatest thing ever!

In the top right of this picture the pole made quite a powerful water forcefield that was really fun going in and out of, like waterfall.

Next month I'm going to Center Parcs and the swimming pool there looks stunning.

What are your favourite pools?

Centre Parcs has yet to be surpassed for me.

For my money, Elevden Forest has the best one.

Oh god this. Even the waterparks in Florida couldn't compare to drifiting around the rapids at 9 o'clock in the evening listening to the tropical music they were piping in. Bliss!

Came to say this

Where is this? Is this in Scotland by any chance?

Because that looks like a swimming place I've been to before. Funnily enough, I never learned to actually swim :fp:

Is that Perth Leisure Centre?

I think that's where Kil works, he lives in Perth so I'd guess it is.

I couldn't answer this. Most of the ones I've been to are either bad or just OK.

Being unable to swim and having a fear of deep water I have to say I don't like any.
Even now the smell of Chlorine reminds me of some terrible swimming lessons in the school pool. *shudder*

Cryptosporidium, neds, and terrible musak. Can you still swim under the 'flaps' to get outside?

Guildford Spectrum used to be a favourite haunt for me and my pals. Haven't been to a public swimming pool for a very long time though, and I'm not sure why. Hygiene and screaming kids are the probable reasons, but not sure really. I only go swimming on holiday now.

When I lived in Paisley my flat was right next to a leisure complex which included a pool, gym, hockey stadium, dance hall and badminton/tennis facilities. It was one of those places that looked very nice from the outside, but as soon as you stood inside you noticed that you were under the thumb of Renfrewshire Council. It was simply rubbish, especially the pool. It was tubes as far as the eye could see, but none of the flooms were ever open, and the rapids weren't very rapid at all. Its such a shame as well because it has so much potential.

Mind you, I wasn't complaining, I could roll out of bed and into a pool.

Wet n Wild in Florida was supremely awesome so that's the best one i been to. However there was a place in Israel we used to go to and it had this slide where there was a plateau bit in the middle. Went down fast enough and u could launch yourself and hope you landed back in the chute  Loved it. Some seasoned pro managed somersaults

I don't know, not been in years. Those flaps always disgusted me though.

The Time Capsule :o That brings back some memories although I'm sure it's now pretty different to what I remember. I think the last time I went there was on a school trip about 16 or 17 years ago

The best pool I've ever been to is probably Wet N Wild in Florida but Typhoon Lagoon was pretty fantastic too.

Having just been there a few weeks ago on holiday, I can confirm that, yes, you can still swim under the flaps. And yes, they are still disgusting.
