On the train earlier was someone from school. Went to say hi to them. Sitting opposite was someone from work who's been in Derby for a week. Weird.

When leaving 6th form once in the car park I got talking to a group of friends who were driving to Tesco for lunch, my house was on the way and they knew it so I was hinting at wanting a lift but the guy driving trying to impress his cronies just drove off. Since it was about a 20 minute walk home I was incredibly pissed off, probably an over reaction but hey. Anyway as I was walking down the long straight road that the 6th form centre was on I saw a group of lads in the distance standing around a car. As I got closer I realized it was them and the guys busted car. I felt like God had come down from heaven given the car a good kicking and made it break, all just for me. It was amazing.

Also a few months ago finding out a friend from uni works in the same building as me. That was really freaky.

Time for adventure

Not the most bizarre, but I always find it strange when someone's in the news or the papers and you know who they are and what they're usually like, thus lending you the opportunity to pass judgment on their character based on personal contact.

Enter this old lad here (BBC News link). And I'd be one of the first to say he's a banana split, even though I feel sorry for the (no longer filthy rich) chap.

A few years back my dad was given a stereo deck from my godmother, and she was downsizing her house. Her husband had passed away a few years prior to that. It was kept in the spare room with a few coats in the wardrobes and a bed. I back home one day and nipped upstairs. About halfway up I could hear A space oddity playing kinda loud. I carried on up the stairs and half way along the hallway it was still playing, so I called dad up. He went infront of me, and as soon as he crossed the door of the room it stopped. He went in and checked it over, and it wasn't plugged in. Nothing was connected and there was basically nothing else in the room it could have come from. About an hour later mum also pointed out that the speakers were still in the back of her car.

Bumped into 3 people (2 were related and went together) my family knew when we were on holiday in Great Yarmouth. I was about 4.

When I was 18, I was working with all 3 of them at the top of my street.

My mum, dad and grandparents are currently on a cruise. My girlfriend's workmate's parents are on the same one.

None are that coincidental, though. It was Potters holiday for the 1st one, and everyone went to Rhyl, Blackpool or Great Yarmouth.

And the 2nd one is just a good value, high quality cruise that was promoted heavily around here.

Do you sometimes hear voices too?

I once did a few months of civil service in a really small museum, where there were about five other people working, including receptionists and archivists. I later found out that the guy who did civil service there right before me lived in the apartment right next to the one I was living in at the time, same floor and all, which was a pretty bizarre coincidence. I never actually met him though...

A few years ago I accidentally knocked the phone (the house phone, not a mobile) off the table, it landed on the floor, rang, made a hideous screeching noise then loudly started playing a tune, my mum eventually came in to find out what was making such a racket and was equally as baffled as I was.

She picked up the phone to put it back on the table and the tune stopped playing and the phone worked as normal just like nothing had happened.

I'm not sure if this is related to the phone incident but a couple of days later my parent's clock radio somehow managed to intercept a telephone conversation between two old women.

Years later, when I'd got my first job in London, I was looking for a place to live. I looked at a place in the East End; a pretty young girl showed me round, explaining she lived there with her boyfriend. The place looked okay so I said I'd take it if that was okay with her, which it was.

I moved in a few days later. In the evening, I was in the living room with the girl when her boyfriend came in, introduced himself, and we got to talking about various stuff, gradually getting around to where we'd come from. He said Nottingham. I said 'Arnold Hill school?' 'cause I'd already worked it out - he was a kid I'd gone to school with 16 years before, my best friend in fact; I'd often wondered what had happened to him in the intervening years cos he made such a lasting impression on me when we were nippers. Life is strange.

Anyone else got any freaky Twilight zone / coincidental stuff happen to them?

Why is that bizarre, I mean Southampton and London are like what, a bus ride apart?

What's the distance between Southampton and London (70 miles, distance fans) got to do with the price of well-past-their-sell-by-date fishfingers? You don't think it's remarkable that two people who had once been mates and whose lives had taken different paths 16 years ago, had somehow ended up living in the same house in a city of 8 million people? The cities aren't even that relevant; I s'pose you could try to rationalise it, as I did, by saying that lots of graduates end up in London, but even so, the circumstances I've just described are AMAZING, surely? What are you, nuts?

When I was about 12, I was walking down a road, the area was made up of small houses. I kept walking and all of a sudden, a large water melon fell from the sky, landing in front of me. I looked around but had no idea where it came from. It was just so weird.
