What is the most significant event in human history?

For me it's clearly writing, and as a sub-event of writing the creation of the printing press. The first allowed us to record things and the second allowed for cheap and easy reproductions of these records.

Preservation of knowledge was an absolutely massive development, hell it's how the English managed to almost entirely eradicate the celtic culture which was an oral tradition, remove the means for stories to be passed on and they die.
