I was actually playing the Michael Jackson Moonwalker game.

Not. I wasn't playing anything. I was watching Big Brother.

Woah, get back to the OT ghetto please. Video game players in this forum only please.

Deux Ex around 9/11. Which is quite uncanny, seeing as they left the twin towers out of the in game skyline, with developers quoted as saying terrorists had destroyed it earlier.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Actually, somewhat related, I didn't know what the Twin Towers were when 9/11 happened, so my brother had to explain what they were to me by relating to the World Quack Centre in Foo Fighters on the Dreamcast, an obvious parody of the buildings.

For MJ I was playing Arma2. For 9/11 I just got home from school. For Diana I got up in the morning wanting to watch cartoons but it was news on every channel. :(

Didn't know Michael Jackson had died until I read this thread, that's shocking news.

 I was playing Tony Hawk 3 when I found out the Queen mum had died too.

Final Fantasy 7.

Didn't find out until this morning. Was in the office early, spoke to one of the few colleagues who were there about how the whole department was empty. He said "Maybe they're all mourning Michael Jackson".

He saw the surprised expression on my face, then said "Haven't you heard? Michael Jackson is dead".

True story.

Some games do remind me of the time when I played them, or where I was when I played them. I even associate certain scents with games. On one of the part time jobs I had when I was in Uni, I washed my hands after going to the toilet and was reminded of Donkey Kong Land II on the GameBoy. We had the same brand of soap at home when I was playing that game.

Red Alert 3 when Jacko went last night.

Mario Kart 64 on 9/11

And all I wanted to do was watch Saturday morning cartoons when Diana died and she was hogging the TV, no Diggit for me that morning.

I totally do this thing called StreetPass UK and it's real good like.

Was on FM08 when my mate told me MJ had died. Didn't believe him at first as he can be an invalid source of information sometimes.
