What's the most overrated game of all time?

Im wondering if those people who said every final fantasy game has played every final fantasy game. Judging that if they thought that they wouldnt buy every final fantasy game therefore their opinion is invalid

They probably don't like JRPG games.

I'd say Double Dash!! is under-rated, actually. NGC Magazine hyperbole aside it wasn't particularly well-received (probably due to being the direct sequel to the legendary Mario Kart 64) but it was different enough to MK64 to justify its existence, as opposed to merely being a graphical update. The co-op option was excellent for pairs of players of differing skillsets, and some of the courses are up there with the very the best in the series.

It has some great tracks! Dry Dry Desert and Sherbet Land (Retro tracks in 8) aren't among them, alas... But DK Mountain is one of my all time favourites. Yoshi Circuit is great, as is Dino Dino Jungle. And I'd love to see a retro version of Wario Colosseum! Why hasn't that happened already?

These were the main two I had in mind when I made that statement!

Also: Peach Beach, Baby Park and Waluigi Stadium are all great.

I was going to agree, but then remembered the reviews were fairly mediocre. I think we need a new "most overhyped game of all time", because Titanfall and Watch_Dogs would win it hands-down.

GTA IV hands down, it is the very definition of overrated.

It was around the release of that game that I stopped giving a strawberry float about game reviews as it was pretty clear Rockstar had them under the thumb. I was amazed at the amount of faults that went uncriticised my the press but were common complaints amongst gamers.

Bioshock is a little overrated. Good story and world building, but the combat wasn't that enjoyable to me.

Setting was really interesting and the story was not bad. It's just a shame it lost its way with all the collect-a-thon stuff later on in the game.

Completely forgot about Bioshock Infinite. That was overrated to strawberry float.

Ah yes, Bioshock Infinite! I played through it but couldn't shake this feeling the whole time that I was forcing myself to see it to the end. On completion I remember being sat their with a can of beer and a smoke thinking to myself "That was actually a load of old crap"

That I completely forgot about it shows how instantly forgettable Bioshock Infinite was. At least for me.

They improved the combat and I found Elizabeth an interesting character. I also found the ending stayed with long after completion unlike the original.

I will concede rapture is a better realised world / location.
