I realised that the shirt I wore to work today has been in my rotation of "regular work shirts" now for the last 9 years!

I tend to keep a fair few shirts on the go at any one time so it's not like it has been worn every day but even so I imagine I've had it on several hundred times over that period which is pretty good going I think.

So, anyone else have any items of ancient clothing that you keep on wearing?

I lost a lot of weight a few years ago so I don't have many items of clothing that are more than three years old - I do have a couple of now very baggy t-shirts and trackies that are about 6-7 years old that I wear to doss about in.

My yellow O'Neal Lakers jersey must be about 10 years old and I still often wear it in the summer. I've got a pair of shorts that must be around 15 years old that I still wear around the house too but they're a bit too big for me now.

Probably some t-shirts. I don't really like throwing them away with the oldest probably around 8 years old. The wife is a bit aggressive though so t-shirts do have a habit of disappearing.

RIP 15 year old Farside Dinosaur t-shirt.

Got an 11 year old Daft Punk T-Shirt from when I saw them at Rock Ness. Still in great nick and I still wear it regularly.

I have a purge every year, anything that looks a bit too tatty or worn gets the chop. Therefore the oldest item of clothing I have is probably a suit that I've had for something like 7 years.

I have a winter coat that I got in 2009 which is still going strong.

Yesterday I was actually considering starting to wear a jumper again I got in 1999.

I frequently wear a pair of Nike tracksuit bottoms that I've had for 15 years, this is mainly because I find it extremely difficult to find clothes that are comfortable to wear while sitting in my wheelchair.

I have a red Dwarf T shirt I got when I was 16 im 37 now and it still fits and I still wear it now and then, this would be the second oldest bit of clothing, I also have an Adidas tracksuit top that my dad gave me when I was 13 that still fits but I dont think I have worn it in about 3 years.

I have boxer shorts that I estimate to be about fifteen years old. I think they were my newish ones when I microwaved some of my old ones at uni to dry them and strawberry floated them up. Basically if they're not Calvin Klein, M&S or from the BHS fire sale they were definitely bought when Blair was in charge. I have socks of a similar vintage too.

I have a Primark hoodie and a now ill-fitting leather jacket that are both about 10 or 11 years old. I just threw out several pieces of clothing from my college days around then too, they were probably older.

My tatty orange hoodie is about 10 years old now, the colour is starting to fade but I absolutely love it still.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one rocking the antique clothing look! :D

One of the things that was interesting to me about my shirt was that because it's such a nondescript item, basically a plain, pale blue work shirt, so it was hard to keep track of how long I'd been wearing it. Some stuff like bespoke t-shirts for bands or TV shows is easier to remain conscious of its aging!

You microwaved your boxer shorts?! Is that a thing?

Holy gooseberry fool, I think my dad used to have that shirt in the 90s.

Yeah sorry about that.

I think the oldest thing I still regularly wear is probably some threadless Ts from around 2008.

Oh hell I have some truly ancient underwear too. I only generally wear cotton, and if they're not too thin they last a reasonable amount of time. Elastic is the first part to go because, well, it's not naturally wearing...

The oldest I own but don't wear is a primary school shirt that everyone signed on the last day of school.

The oldest I own and wear might well be my scarf, I think I bought that in 2006 when I started going to college.

I wear one of my fathers old leather belts from the 80's from time-to-time. I recently got rid of a lot of old clothes as they just don't fit after losing so much weight.

Oh I forgot about that. I have two for some reason. Probably primary and secondary.
