Randomly all my usb ports have stopped working on my laptop. All i did was plug in my printer which i i haved used all the time. Now nothing connect including a pnp mouse. Ive tried system restore in case i had something but nothing will work
Go to the website of your laptop's manufacturer and look for a driver section. In there, find the usb 2.0 drivers that correspond with your model. Edit, And install them obviously.
Thanks ill try that now but why would my mouse stop working and my usb to ethernet thingy (im in halls so only have one internet connection so i send xbox live through my laptop)?

My guess is that installing the printer must have removed/broken your old drivers. Or maybe you pushed the plug in too hard and broke the socket.
That wasnt the problem And ive used the printer lots of times before i just dont keep ot plugged in all the time. Also i have another usb on the other side of the laptop which isnt working so i dont think it was from shoving it in to hard. Also everytime i plug in a usb device it just pops up with "USB device not recognised".
Hold down the Windows key and press the Pause/Break key. Then click on Device Manager. Scroll down to USB controllers and check that there are no red crosses next to them. If there are crosses then it means they have been disabled, so you just need to right click and go into their properties and enable them again.
