I just didn't get it. The logic of the whole thing was off. I was perfectly able to accept talking toys, a world with superheroes and even a world made for and inhabited by sentient cars because all the internal logic of those universes were sound. In Up it's all over the place. Talking dogs, magic birds, Earl somehow hanging onto a Zeppelin with one hand (while still requiring a cane to walk).

It didn't work for me.

Indeed. But I can handle it because I'm a man

Oh yes, I remember why you hated it now. Something about gender stereotypes.

"You're not coming with me on this dangerous mission because I don't want you to die and be left with all the childcare responsibilities but it's fine for me to go behind your back and do these dangerous missions without telling you because you are a woman and your place is at home looking after our children"

I find it difficult to watch without seeing this now.

I'm pretty sure that's complete bullshit. It's more like a midlife crisis. He wants to go out, do exiting things, meet dangerous women, etc.

He's not telling his wife because she'll give him a ruddy good bollocking, not because he's trying to protect her.

OTN would have been happy if Mr Incredible was living with his life partner Mr Freeze. Who together would have solved the problem with the bad guys in a non aggressive manner based on dialogue, understanding, reconciliation and rehabilitation.

Well it is set in the late 1970s, so the tone is perfectly in sync with the time. :shifty:

The first Toy Story will always be my favourite. It put Pixar on the map and laid the groundwork for everything that was to come.

Special mentions go to Toy Story 3, WALL-E, Monsters Inc and The Incredibles.

I thought the whole "The Incredibles is Sexist" thing was a joke. A big funny joke. Ha ha. Everybody laugh.

I'm still not convinced it isn't. It's just so...ridiculous.
