What I don't understand is why anyone would shop at HMV when its online store is always cheaper and has free delivery. I suppose if it takes ages to come...

Er, as far as Amazon's concerned, they don't usually take longer than a couple of days for me, which is fair enough with the free delivery option. Play however, take a week to get my items to me. Now the delivery is even worse? Christ, I could be looking at two weeks!

Amazon delivery is usually super fast for me (cos I live right next to one of their Warehouses, innit) but I've found Play's deliveries have improved. I remember it used to take a week to 10 days to get anything from them. Last couple of times I've ordered with them the stuff has been delivered within 5 days. Probably just got lucky.

They had some good stuff recently, like Fifa 09 for 20 odd quid.

Last time I ordered off play they sent me two incorrect items, the fools. I'd still give them another go if a great bargain popped up mind.

I use Play all the time. I always find good bargains, but then I don't buy new releases. The deliverys bad, but not as bad as HMV online. A week?! strawberry float that gooseberry fool.

They sent me an incorrect item as well once. Aside from that I've found them to be very reliable.

This particular item was sent first class (everything I've received from Play.com has been first class)....

I've never waited more than 4 working days for something to arrive either.

I'm betting you preordered that. Order something that's in stock now and count the days it takes to arrive. And it's nothing to do with where I live because Amazon's free postage for something I ordered on the same day came first.

Amazon have warehouses closer. Stuff from Play comes from Jersey. Doesn't it? And that's basically in France.

I'm not allowed to log onto my account and they sent and charged me for a game I had canceled several months earlier.

It's unlikely I'll ever use them again.

I have no idea.

email and password is correct, I get them to email it to me to make sure but when I try again they tell me I have to ring up to sort it out.

When there are plenty of other sites to get my games from then that's one piece of hassle too far. As I first noticed this problem when I tried to return Manhunt 2 only to find I couldn't then I decided they could go strawberry float themselves.

never had a problem with play and get alot through them
