The strike hits the valley to the east of the village. It takes a few minutes for the group to converge on that position. The soldier out on patrol has had the lower half of his body torn clean away and scattered to the wind. A testament to his elite training, he managed to crawl ten yards away from the crater, trailing guts and blood, before finally lying still.

He was...

Lambda_Zellery, a BIOLOGIST.

FWIW, I still believe Zellery's version of events from what he said a couple of pages ago. Hoping I'm wrong and Sat hasn't just screwed up.

Edit: Nope. Sat screwed up.

Sat managing to completely screw the innocents over there. Vigilante- please just take out Hexx to clear up the loose end. What an utterly incompetent hour from some of you there.

I hope you're happy Sat and Hexx :(

Here's a run down/summary of what I believe happened:

- Gamma_Hexx (Lieutenant) investigated Lambda_Sat (Vote Rigger) and determined they were the Vote Rigger.
- Hexx reached out to Sat.
- Lambda_Zellery (Biologist) investigated Sat and determined they were not infected.
- Zellery reached out to both Sat and myself (Human) as "Chief Biologist" and then investigated Nun (Human) on the second night.
- Sat told Hexx that Zellery was "Chief Biologist" without letting Zellery know at all
- Hexx contacted Zellery but claimed to have investigated Zellery, rather than learning the role from Sat
- Zellery assumed the leak was due to being in contact with a parasite (probably me, because Zellery had tested Sat already), so posted publicly about it
- Sat confirmed that he was the leaker, not me, and then lent credence to his claim by calling Hexx a Lieutenant.
- Sat rigged the vote to elect Hexx as AC, and Hexx killed Zellery.

They can't, as AC Hexx is protected from night actions.

Every day I put less stock in my own predictions. Where am I going wrong?

But, still... my simulations suggest there will be a MAJOR EVENT at 19:00. I trust you all have enough to talk about until then.

As for me? I need to gather more data.

Ariel hovers away. If you didn't know better, it would seem... anxious.

Well that was a clusterfuck. Well done guys, you've outed yourselves to the wolves and killed an important role that could have helped us!

This is a top AYAW moment right here

So where, in that clusterfuck, did it become a logical idea to kill Zellery?

I claimed my role to Zellery and he immediately tried to kill me the next day, plus he lied about his role in the first place.

At the time I thought it was a wolf play but now it seems obvious it was just crossed wires and I've made a huge mistake.

Sorry guys

Does this debacle confirm anyone as good in the end?

It’s clear Sat and Hexx trust each other... This confirms that Sat can at least rig votes so he’s out there as at least a neutral I suppose?

Does it validate Orange in any sense? Did Hexx seer him?

Sorry just catching up

On page 37:

Lambda_Sat wrote:I'm just trying to catch up over my lunch break, didn't realise I would have to be involved in today's phase but I think I can sort this mess out.

Hexx messaged me last night saying he was lieutenant and background checked me, finding out I was vote rigger. As this was true I had no reason to believe he was evil. I told him that Zellery had been messaging me as he had cleared me as town and I told Hexx that Zellery was Chief Biologist, because then we had a web of confirmed town and I thought I was putting two seers in contact.

I went out on a limb trusting Zellery because he claimed he was a seer who had found out I was an innocent and I've worked well with Zellery previously so I thought I could probably trust a seer claim. However, then Hexx did know my role up front so I can't see how he would have managed that unless his claim is legitimate. Hence i'm torn on which is likely to be the real cop but I do think Hexx is legitimate as he knew my role before I contacted him last phase whereas Zellery's role claimed to just know I was innocent which any parasite would be able to tell as they presumably know each other.

Hence I think that Zellery must be the parasite and Hexx is the legitimate cop so in order to prove my role to everyone else and clear my name i'm going to rig the vote in favor of Hexx so I can be cleared then hopefully Hexx can kill Zellery and then look at OR tonight safely.

It could be a wolf play but it exposes quite a few badduns at once so is very risky... it does just read as more of a cock up.

Caught up on the thread now (hurrah for lunch breaks). Had some thoughts about the game mechanics. Karl is letting us NOT do things eg don't elect an AC, don't participate in an event. So for balance we could guess that perhaps the enemy have the same option. At the moment the only positive endgame in the OP is the flares, but if we fire them before all villain roles are eliminated, we lose. If the enemy have the option to NOT kill during the night phase they may seek to trick us into thinking we've killed them all (we've not been told how many of them there are) so that they win by us voting for our own loss.

Now this would make the game very hard to win, because how would we know how many wolves etc there are without a seer? Seers historically don't last the full game - certainly not if the villagers lose! So what if that shift in balance were to be addressed by there being lots of sort-of-seer powers in play, who can individually identify part of the puzzle but need to work with others to get the whole picture?

We're all military after all; it makes sense that there would be a few lieutenants, for example.

Yes... we know Zellery was definitely the biologist

That does mean Sat definitely came up innocent when Zellery ran tests, and Sat is also undoubtedly the Vote Rigger. Still a possibility that Sat is the Alpha and hence appears innocent when checked, but yeah.

Question for everyone: Do people think it is possible for someone to be both a Lieutenant and a parasite/wolf?

I would have thought that particular combination to be OP, as not only would the parasites be able to kill three people a night, but also get a go a night (per infected Lieutenant) at finding out who is what special role.

It depends how many "evil" roles there are. It seems to me like it's a game with one evil role (i.e. parasites) who choose targets each evening to infect and these targets claw their own carotid arteries out. What are you all suggesting the special abilities of the Lieutenant are? If in direct contradiction to parasites in terms of win conditions, then no you probably can't be both unless Lieutenant Parasite is a ranking and a surname.

What an excellent show of complete incompetence  the worst thing is that we haven't even got anything else to really go on apart from going after Hexx/OC/Sat. Even though it might just be innocent mistakes.
