Exeter is lovely but not a great deal of music makes it down here. It's also pretty small. Fantastic for running though, I'm constantly finding new places off the beaten track and I've been running in the area for 12 years. The fact that it's so quiet and surroinded by countryside is a real godsend. You've also got Exmouth about twenty minutes away and north Devon about an hour, miles of great beaches roundabouts.

For the love of Christ don't live in Plymouth though. It's a strawberry floating dump.

My other half is in Brighton so I'm there quite a lot. Absolutely love it there. It's my second favourite place to be for more than a few days behind Winchester. Bath is also lovely. One of those three :)

I hopefully have just purchased a flat in Bath, I love the area, I have lived most my life in and around Bath it really is a gorgeous city, and just an awesome place to be. Music wise it isn't bad, but Bristol is just up the road and that has an excellent music scene, tons of venues and events going on all the time. Also the train is a direct line straight into London so about an hour and a half to Paddington, you just have to travel through Swindon "shudder"

Brighton is basically entirely dependent on weather. Bad weather (which is most of the time), it's grey, wet, grey, dirty, grey but with endless places to shelter and grovel. In good weather, it's strawberry floating fantastic, sans tourists. Basically, if you don't care about the weather you can't not have fun there unless you can't make friends, in which case you're strawberry floated.

I'm there now. You certainly can't complain about the facilities.

Don't they keep the nuclear subs in Plymouth? Prime first-strike target, don't live there.

Or alternatively the best place to live if you want to help start WW3.

(you'd have to move to Faslane and not Plymouth though)

I like your preference for a sunny seaside town. I'm from Southport and for some reason love my home town.
Its just nice being by the beach with a very long pier even though I have only walked to the end of it a handful of times.

They are best in the summer when its packed with tourists and I don't mind living amongst loads of old people...whats the problem? lol

Exeter has the best of everything. Hills near by in dartmoor. The south devon coast is beautiful. THe city has enough going on for it to be a fun city to live too. Pubs are great, people are nice. I loved it down there. However, it's not close to london and in the summer is difficult to travel to and from with traffic clogging the m5 and a303.

Surely he'd have to move into 10 Downing Street if he wants to start WW3?
