There wasn't a Mean Machines Nintendo as far as I remember. The sister magazine to Mean Machines Sega was Nintendo Magazine System wasn't it?

Also, poll needs more CRASH! http://www.crashonline.org.uk/ Look at that artwork, man! Issue 20 came with a massive poster of the cover... monster snake thingy. Lots of scantily clad women and men warriors fighting/being killed by it, I recall.

Some magazine at some point (I think it was Crash as I don't think any of the nintendo mags I read would have) had a little Judge Dredd cartoon section and introduced the 4 Judges of the Apocalypse - scary stuff.

Great memories on that poll list though!

Dont think I can add anymore poll options without breaking the poll, we came up with the options in the other topic yesterday.

Nice. I'm going to check out a few issues of Nintendo Power seeing as I've always heard so many people citing its greatness.

Super Play is my favourite of all time. Honestly the covers Will did were the best covers in the history of gaming mags.

What other mag would put an import only release of a JRPG, on the front cover?

Been a subscriber to CVG, Gamesmaster, OPS2M, Edge and GamesTM in the past or currently.

CVG gave me the most enjoyable read every month, especially in the mid to late nineties, but I attribute a lot of that to not having the Internet back then and reading the news every month was really new news!

CVG was absolutely amazing between 1996 and 1998, always loved the Freeview pullout with the rumours (most of them made up by the mag). OPM2 was great for the first year but quickly turned into a lad's mag.

It was Freeplay mate! ;)

I used to love reading that section. Articles in it I remember include the mysterious Sega Blackbelt running VF3 and also an advert on the price of an import N64 and Super Mario 64, something like £700!

I got 3 letters printed in the last 10 or so issues (I think), but stupidly chucked my CVG Collection away along with my Official Dreamcast and Sega Saturn Magazine! :fp:

I managed to keep hold of my Edge Collection somehow though! :fp:

I remember that, the render was great too, looked like the Saturn crossed with what Dreamcast would eventually look like, the front of the Dreamcast too.

Also got rid of my CVG/Saturn mags but kept EDGE for some reason, managed to download PDFs of all the old mags I had, will have to get through them when I get the time.

I need to get scans of the last 20 or so issues of CVG, but I guess they are going to be tough to find, any chance you know where they can be sourced?

I haven't managed to find anything else other than the issues on retromags.com and outofprintarchive.com

There is a few issues I'm after from 1994/1994, one with Alien vs Predator on the cover, another with Kintaro off Mortal Kombat, and one with Heihachi from Tekken 2 on.

Missed the boat I'm afraid, if I added more poll options it'd break. Surprised I forgot that one though considering I used to read SEGA Power :fp:

I'll have a look around for more scan sites though.

So glad the Sega Saturn ones were made available on the Internet, they bring back memories. One of my relatives used to work for Sega during that time and she regularly got me Sega Saturn Magazine issues and demos!

I swear magazines tend to have a lot more exclusive previews and smaller general previews. I remember the days when magazines used to really give every game decent coverage. I guess the Internet is partly to blame for that.
