Hype for the Gathering Storm III releases. It's all building up to 8th edition this year.

GW seem to be getting quite elaborate in delivering hype for what usually amounts to a 2" high plastic model.

Well...damn.
Gonna be interesting to see how the Imperium can try to spin one of the greatest Primarchs into a heretic.

Not a happy chap. Cool that not everyone in 40k thinks war is the best thing ever.

None of the Primarchs would be the least bit happy with the Imperium circa M41 - even the Emperor is aware of it, and he hates it too. But he accepts it on some level as well, knowing that he is the only reason that the Imperium of Man has survived.

Rumor has it that Guilliman may come to see things this way too, and will take on the role of Emperor Incarnate, perhaps after Cypher kills the real Emperor or some crazy gooseberry fool like that.

GW has announced a new game today:
Shadow War: Armageddon is the spiritual successor to Necromunda and due out VERY SOON. Comes in a MASSIVE (stressed a lot) box full of multilevel terrain, Space Marines, Orks and of course rules. The rules cover 16-17 different factions, so most/all 40k armies are covered.

New Game Announced at Gama Trade Show

Breaking news from the Gama Trade Show, a brand new boxed game has just been announced – Shadow War: Armageddon.

Some of the Warhammer Community team are currently at the huge trade show in Las Vegas, and are showcasing some of the exciting new releases on the way over the next few months. The first of these is Shadow War: Armageddon.

Right now we don’t have a huge amount of detail on this set (though we will, very soon), but what we do know is that it is a squad-level game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The specific setting is the hive cities of War Zone: Armageddon, and the two forces pitted against each other are Space Marines Scouts from the Blood Angels Chapter and ferocious Ork Boyz.

We think the idea of close-range combat amongst the sprawling ruins of Imperial industry sounds pretty ace.

Seems like Necromunda crossed with Kill Team, which sounds pretty awesome to me!

Those veteran gamers out there will be keen to learn that much of the ruleset is based off of the classic Necromunda game, including some in-between game advancements and earning experience that can see your small recon-force grow to become an elite unit of honed killers.

The terrain is perhaps the star of the set though. Never before has the tangled structure of an industrial hive been better represented. Your warriors can hide behind chimneys, sprint along walkways, gain higher ground, duck under arcane mechanisms, and generally make full use of this great new set.

The kits are, of course, also suitable for Warhammer 40,000 games, and it is fully modular, meaning you can combine kits in all sorts of unusual ways to create some truly huge and awesome terrain pieces.

You’ll be able to expand your game with extra models for the two squads in the box, or even add whole new races. The Kill Teams are all designed to be built around squads in an army you might already have, or can pick-up in a single boxed set. Here are a few of the units that you will be able to use, in case you wanted to get started building and painting now:
Skitarii Rangers
Chaos Space Marines
Cultists
Dark Eldar Wyches
Dire Avengers
Eldar Guardians
Harlequin Troupe
Grey Knights Strike Squad
Necron Immortals
Necron Warriors
Tau Empire Pathfinder Team
Tyranid Warrior Brood
Neophyte Hybrids
Scouts
Scouts with sniper rifles
Cadian Infantry Squad
Ork Boyz

New army for Age of Sigmar, Duardin Sky Pirates:

Introducing the Kharadron Overlords, a brand new faction of duardin for the Mortal Realms.

From the skies come the airborne armadas of the Kharadron Overlords – sky-fleets of iron-clad warriors aboard fantastical machines of war armed with powerful aetheric weapons.

They are a proud people and masters of strange alchemical powers. Guided by their Kharardron Code, and long-hidden from the rampaging forces of the Dark Gods, they did not merely survived the Age of Chaos, they thrived.

With the dominion of Chaos receding, they venture forth once more to seek plunder and riches among the realms.

This new Duardin faction is a force unlike any you have seen before. These are not the descendants of Grungni who hid in their mountain holds or fled to Azyr, and neither are they the firebrand berzerkers of the lodges that worship the fractured god Grimnir. The Kharadrons have become a race unto themselves, separated from their kin through the centuries.

You won’t see a single scrap of flesh on them – every inch of their bodies is clad in armour or complex suits, so as to protect them from the harsh environments found in the magic-infused skies of the Mortal Realms. Their weapons are powered by strange chemical processes, and their airships, while bearing some similarities to the gyrocopters of their ancestors, are clearly powered by a far more powerful and possibly arcane mechanism.

They've also got something coming for competitive players:
This is a new game, set in the Mortal Realms during the Age of Sigmar. It has been designed specifically for competitive, organised play, to support our growing community of gamers out there. For the moment, pretty much all we have in terms of detail is the cryptic video above, but you’ll be hearing much more about this new game, and seeing some of the new miniatures, very soon…

Steampunk Squats :P

They do have several visible nods to the Space Marines there, kinda like a fantasy parody of them.

Can't see that Shadow War set being less than £150 from the sounds of things.

That reminds me, I still have an unopened Dreadfleet set around somewhere.
