I broke my spine so plenty of time for hobbies. Just a tyranid homogaunt but feel like I've raised the bar for that mini - I find it hard not to make each better than the last, which takes forever. Will share when it's finished.

Had a bit of a clear out out the weekend. Got boxes of paints, brushes, modelling gubbins and miniatures from all different companies, including some much older GW figures from my studio painting days. Haven't painted anything for a few years and not sure I will again. IF the weather is fine come summer time I'll take it all up to the car boot sale. No doubt I'll make some wargamer/RPG fan happy with a bargain.

A few summers ago I bought a 1/48 scale moving edition X Wing in Taiwan (similar to the Gundam kits)
I still haven't built the thing and so I gave it to my friend who's super into kits to make it for me
This thread is making me ashamed I never did it myself now

Dis anyone jump on the Hellboy Kickstarter? Never got into a table top game before but the IP and the miniatures made me invest. The amount of stretch goals obtained also meant the fairly steep ask towards the beginning more stomachable.

After more than two decades, a classic is being reborn…

That’s right – after waiting patiently (and not-so-patiently), Ork players can look forward to a brand new boxed set featuring some incredible new vehicles, like this update of the venerable Ork Warbuggy.

We’ll have more news for you very soon at Warhammer Fest in the Warhammer Community and Studio Preview Seminar. In fact, if you want to be there in person, there’s still time to pick up your tickets.

Indeed, some people have done some amazing Gorkamorka/Mad Max conversions that if I had the time/money/space I would totally nick ideas from for a 40k ork speed freaks army:

i wonder if the guitar for example is a part or sculpted, impressive.

I've recently done a sole tyranid homogaunt, each one is better than the last. This one has a really nice balance of texture, painterliness, smooth lines, accents etc. without being a mixed bag. Could use more detail on the carapace, I'm honestly unsure how I even achieved some of the strokes I got before.. I think to be fair the carnifex and hive tyrant etc are much larger models so it may be a simple case of scale and super high detail on troops is a bit of a waste of effort anyway as they are meant to blend into the horde not be focus pieces.

Yeah I'm pretty confident but have been painting for 24 years now and I do a lot of higher detailed articulate work day to day with blades etc, my hands are steady as strawberry float (thankfully I have naturally low blood pressure, not looking forward to that changing with age).

:o Wow, those are amazing!

If they bring it back, other than including a set number of Ork kits and fortification parts, I'd love it if the rest of the included stuff was just a great big bag of random gubbinz. Like, a veritable Orky Scrapheap Challenge - build whatever you like. Vehicle rules change depending on weapons and number of wheels or whatever.

Primaris marines are strawberry floating wank.

Just visited new Dice Saloon in Brighton (shop/gaming patlour you should definitely check out) and saw in person those ghosts from age of sigmar which are incredible (unpainted), also an open box dark souls (honestly I found those moulds a little lacking in detail). They had the new double scale epic titans.

Of all the things there though I still think I'd like to paint some battlefleet / dropfleet minis , seem good value to me. I also like those new green nurgle style space marines.

Full range of vajello citadel and airbrush paints too.

Lots of stuff at Warhammer Fest Europe:

Kill Team: Rogue Trader is a massive expansion to Kill Team that has something for every kind of player. Kill Team has offered us the chance to explore the 41st Millennium in ways that were never previously possible, with its intimate, ground-level scale letting us peek into the darker corners of the lore.

Kill Team: Rogue Trader is a milestone for Warhammer bringing Rogue Traders and their crews – the daring colonisers who claim new territory for the Imperium – to life in miniature form for the first time since Inquisitor. These miniatures are truly incredible, exploring in astounding detail a part of the lore that previously only dwelled in novels or background.

Your Rogue Trader and crew will be up against a host of repulsive Nurgle infected and renegade servants of the Plague God swollen with horrific mutations.

The Kill Team: Rogue Trader boxed set is more than miniatures – it’s a toolbox with something to offer for every Kill Team player, from those using the system to forge thrilling narratives to die-hard tournament players.

At its core, the set is an adventure that pits Rogue Trader Elucia Vhane against a fiendish strain of mutants in a series of narrative missions. You’ll be able to use both kill teams in your campaigns and matched play missions, with a set of datasheets and points values for each.

Essentially, you’re getting two Kill Team Starter Sets in one – as well as a thematic (and portable) pair of Killzones. In Rogue Trader, you’ll find rules, boards and terrain for playing in the cramped confines of the Imperial shuttle, the Truehawk, or an Imperial Shrine. As well as offering new tactical challenges, these boards make sparse but effective use of terrain, making it the perfect option for playing on the go. You’ll be able to fit the entire Killzone plus your kill team and datacards into a single Skirmish Case.

You’ll even be able to use both teams in your games of Warhammer 40,000, giving you yet another use for these stunning models.

A few days ago, we pulled the covers off a recent triumph in Orkish engineering with a reveal of the new and improved Ork Warbuggy – or, as they call it, the Kustom Boosta-blasta…

There’s a lot more on the way for the Greenskinz, with a new wave of wild and wonderful vehicles arriving this Orktober, spearheaded by Speed Freeks.

This boxed set pits you against a friend in a series of death races between a variety of Orkish speedsters, including the aforementioned Kustom Boosta-blasta and the Shokkjump Dragsta – a racer that uses shokk-attack technology to project itself ahead of the competition – or just into anyone that looks like they need smashin’ up.

Speed Freeks (and more) will be joining us in Orktober – until then, stand by (and maybe treat yourself to a Mek).
