Spawned from KK's helpful post in TCRT, I was wondering who has the best Sky package deal currently.

KK wrote:A tip for anyone wanting to knock a little money off their Sky TV. Go to the cancellation section of their website and tell them you're leaving because you think it's too expensive. On the next page they'll immediately offer you 10% off.

By going through the whole Live Chat malarkey, they'll up it to 30%.

Go through with cancellation and you'll have 30 days in which to change your mind. Sky will then proceed to bombard you with 50% off. Once those 30 days have elapsed it'll be up to 65%, 75% if you're really lucky.

Every year it's the same story now. They're like clockwork.

After many years of haggling, I have

- 2 x Sky HD Box (Only 1 is actually activated with planner/boxsets etc, the other is used as a freeview box in my bedroom.)
- The top Unlimited Fibre Broadband option
- Telephone Line that I never use.
- No movies or sports channels

Running total - £36.40 per month

1 Jun - 30 Jun A month in advance
Box Sets - including discounts £19.00
Sky Fibre Unlimited - including discounts £10.00
Sky Talk Line Rental - including discounts £7.40
Free items
Sky+ Subscription
Sky WiFi
Sky Pay As You Talk
Total
36.40

Sky+ HD box
Sky Q Broadband Hub
£18.99 for Sky Talk/Line Rental
£12 for Sky Fibre Unlimited
£8 for Sky+ features and Variety pack.

£38.99. The TV is getting dumped next month as the contract is up again. I don't watch anything on Variety whatsoever, partially because it's all in SD, partially because there's strawberry float all on outside of Sky Atlantic. I only took it because they wanted £10 for Sky+, or £8 for Variety and Sky+. It's about a 60% discount anyway. Who is paying £22 for Variety I have no idea. I think it's much worse value than NowTV's Entertainment Pass, which is in HD and includes on-demand and box sets for £6.99.

I'm with Virgin Media myself but would like to switch to Sky. The only thing keeping me with them at the moment is the speed of broadband. I do have Now TV's kids, entertainment and movie packages at the moment (Entertainment is half Price for another 2 months I think and movies is £1.99 for the next 2 months) they even do Now TV packages with broadband and a phone line..

I think I'll be switching to Sky soon. My BT contract has come to an end, so my bills have gone through the roof. Plus my TV antenna has broken, and I'd rather not have to pay to get it fixed when Sky are going to come and give me a shiny new dish and Sky Atlantic in time for Game of Thrones.

Original bundle for £9. That's all I need from them.

True story - I saw Preezy had posted earlier (before I came in here) and then saw Grumpy David had posted later, and I made a bet with myself they'd both be scummy pirate thieves.

Well to be fair I do have a skull for a face.

I hope you get this rectified. Even with the slightest of bartering you could be saving minimum £300 a year.
