Something of an aside, but I find it repulsive when I see TV chefs do this without first having removed rings they're wearing.

I bet even after they've washed their hands there's still a good chance there's a bit of raw mince trapped in the gemstone setting.

This is very odd. I honestly didn't think it was such an issue that new packaging needed to be made. How the hell do people cut raw meat? With a knife and fork?
You need to use hands for stuff like marinading, as you have to massage into the meat. Unless of course you are one of those wasteful people who uses a plastic bag to then just throw away

That's the beauty of soap and hot water, you can clean your hands after touching raw food...

I dislike articles like this - the minority, 37% of 16-34 year olds, say they prefer not to handle raw meat when cooking compared to 27% of all ages, which somehow becomes: "handling raw meat is apparently a massive no-no for Generation Y".

Yep, it's a nonsense. Particularly this insistence on dividing everyone into manageable groups, all with their own label, (millennials etc). It's almost as if pitting everyone against each other is the real objective here...

They're probably just buying premarinated meat. Supermarkets are stacked with it come BBQ season.

I'm not a fan because it gives the supermarket an excuse to use less than stellar cuts. I remember buying pork once that looked great in the box but in reality the glaze was just used to cover up all the fat.

This whole article is a bit silly really. The question should really be do they dislike touching raw meat. Many people are not fussed by it so wouldn’t say they dislike touching it but they also wouldn’t say they like it. As saying you like something implies that you get enjoyment out of it.

I saw an Instagram post a number of months ago that was basically 'They'll lick an arsehole but can't eat a bruised banana. Millennials.'

It’s hilarious how much effort to denigrate the younger generation every generations goes through. I hope I never turn into a bitter old banana split.

My aunt always made an effort to keep pace with the younger generation - always travelling, always trying to keep up with technology and learn new things, but it takes a lot of money, it takes a lot of effort. If you don't have either or the inclination to do so then a massive gulf developers.

Oh yeah, I don't mean all older people are like that. But every generation (in general) seems to end up seeing nothing but bad in the generations below them. It's always happened and always will.

I just read this comment on an article about the younger generation facing a future where they will never be able to afford a home:

Many factors are at work here. Chiefly the sense of entitlement millennials have in that they don't have the coping skills to survive in the real world and want everything handed to them, the latest phone, all the music festivals, a daily happy meal, and they don't want to work for it but play the latest video games and tweet all day. Also record numbers studying dud subjects like gender studies.

Bitter banana splits that like drive me mental.

Oooo check out Mr Anti Bacterial spray moneybags over here.

We don't have time to wash our hands, clean the taps, pop to the shop for sprays. We've got a chicken to eat. :x
