It doesn't sound as bad when you put it like that. It's the whole announcing of work on it literally a year after the X E3 announcement. It leaves a sour taste.

Not Sony, MS or Nintendo. They were all gooseberry fool for different reasons.

Devolver wins, but not for the games.

I noticed an odd thing during the third party trailers this year: at the end of the trailers, they had logos for 'Xbox One', 'Xbox One X', 'PS4' and 'PS4 Pro'. I've never seen it done like this before. Is this because we're going to have a situation where games can play both on this new generation and, maybe, the more powerful mid-generation machines?

NO

All PS4 Pro/XBO X games will run on PS4/XBO and vice versa.

When next gen comes there will be cross gen games that run on PS4 and PS5, and then eventually they'll only run on PS5.

He's talking about the idea of PS4 Pro and Xbox One X having exclusives, something both Sony and Microsoft have REPEATEDLY ruled out.

It definitely felt like companies were more focused on the future, but there was still some surprises.

Microsoft 8.5/10
Ubisoft 8.5/10
Sony 8/10
Bethesda 8/10
Nintendo 7/10
Square 4/10
EA 3/10

Devolver announced Metal Wolf Chaos, so they definitely won. After that, probably Nintendo for Daemon X Machina and Smash, or Squenix for Babylon's Fall and FFXIVxMHW event.

3 years is an appalling amount of time for a console lifespan. By 2020 I will have had an Xbone for 7 years. I always think a console generation should be about 5 years, so I'll have gotten my monies worth out of this one.

Now that the dust has settled and the conferences are over, I wonder if any would change their minds in this poll?

Yup, in terms of first party games shown Sony absolutely shat all over the competition.

Most of the MS conference was PS4 games.

Well. I would say that none of the games MS showed were PS4 games, they were multiplatform games, and I'm guessing run best on Xbox One X, so are they Xbox One X games?

MS showed loads of games that won't appear on PS4.

Halo Infinite
Gears 5
Gears Tactics
Forza Horizon
Crackdown 3
Cuphead 2

That's just off the top of my head.

Just because you don't like the games, doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

Dreams, The Last of Us 2, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima

No release dates. It’s not like we’re just finding out about these games either.

And Halo Infinity and Gears 5 have release dates?

One of the Xbox (or is it Xbox and PC?) exclusives that I think looks really interesting is "We Happy Few", Forza Horizon 4 is also quite appealing this year due to it being set in the UK.

It’s hardly exciting though is it. It’s shocking to think this is the current first party content and how little they have progressed.
