Surprised about the negative opinions here for the Bethesda showing, I thought they did relatively well (better than Ubi I'd say).

Also EA wasn't good but Square-Enix was a car crash, that's the worst E3 showing by any major publisher for years.

Nintendo was also bad, but I guess it was ok if you like Smash Bros.

EDIT - On the topic subject, its a strange one. I've gone for Microsoft, but actually Sony showed better content that's coming sooner I think.

I'm torn between Microsoft for buying studios and saying they have the next gen in development and Bethesda for Elder Scrolls even if it is most likely 4 years away.

Screw it, I'm going with the shiny new console generation  .

Ubisoft for me, with Sony a close second. Microsoft talking about the next generation has put me off. I don’t even own a 4K TV yet and why should I be excited by them buying Studios [Every studio they own seem to go downhill rapidly, apart from the Forza Devs].

Out of everything I’ve seen I only want to get Forza Horizon 4, Sable, Spider-Man, Ghost Of Tsushima and My Friend Pedro.

Nintendo and everyone else has been disappointing, still hoping for a Retro Studios drop during Treehouse.

From what I've seen, Ubisoft.

For me Bethesda won E3. I did see that there were some corny moments and presenting mishaps which I can see becoming memes. Most of the content didn't like Rage and Prey didn't have me wanting to immediately buy it. But Bethesda did a very clever thing of showing themselves to be a good publisher that cares about their IP. The conference was presented with good will that I think will benefit them by raising the profile of all their games and leading to greater sales.

And a new Fallout, Elder Scrolls mobile game and teases of two mega-games won it for me.

Microsoft's was the most entertaining but the underlying message of their conference was 'we're still in the game' but they didn't have many exclusives for 2018 or 2019 to differentiate themselves.

Sony had a low key show that wasn't fun to watch but they did show their four (five) mega-big games.

Exactly this for me. I’m yet to see a single game this gen that I’d want to get an Xbox for. Since I’ve got a switch and PS4.

I only saw the Sony one and it was very lacking in new announcements. Last Of Us looks incredible, but nothing else they showed did anything for me.

Sony - for the games, which is what it’s all about really.

Microsoft's conference was very slick but the games just look the same as ever, these titles don't interest me that much.

Microsoft had the best conference by far, they matched Sony's E3 2015 in terms of presentation, but for me the games weren't there, yet more Halo, Gears and Forza.

Sony showed gameplay of Last of Us 2, Death Stranding, Tsushima and Spiderman which all look incredible, along with the reveal of Remake 2, it just wasn't well presented.

Clearly MS. I would say they’ve done a lot to level the playing field. Shadows Die Twice and Kingdom Hearts must have hurt Sony somewhat. Forza on Gamepass was a result and it was just positive and optimistic. Having said that, I’ll get all of the Sony exclusives just would have wanted something new.

PC Yakuza fans :P Seriously though, the more people that get to play these games the better and the more Yakuza we will get. Everybody wins!

This is very true. They won purely on content but 99% of the games they demoed were timed exclusives or are available on PC and there remains no reason for me to consider buying an Xbox.

Well, apart from the Game Pass, which was probably their biggest push, but even then there's the ownership rights issue and a lot of it is, again, available on PC.

I didn't watch Sony's one cos it was on at stupid o'clock but I read the Eurogamer report and they thought it was pretty poor and a showing of hubris (albeit deserved).

I liked the Bethesda and Ubisoft ones though lots of the Ubi games looked meh, Division 2 and AC Odyssey both looked like re-skins and The if that pirate game doesn't let you port at islands its dead in the water (pun intended).

Microsoft opened with Halo Infinite and with a trailer that kept me guessing till DAT helmet came into view. Then the music from Possibly the greatest E3 trailer of all time kicked in and I, for the first time in many a year got excited. It's possibly a launch game for next gen but it was a glorious opening.

It was an honest acknowledgement that MS didn't serve Xbox first party wise this gen so far and they put any worries or ignorance that they didn't recognize that to rest. The Studio announcements where huge for me, they now have a vast number of studio's working on projects for the next Xbox and beyond. Mentioning new Xbox console's coming down the line as well as the cost of setting up and buying studios means that MS is serious about competing again in the console space. If gamepass keeps to the same price and strategy going forward it will be an even bigger success than it already is, plus of course we'll always have full backwards compatibility.

As an Xbox gamer it was a reassuring conference and it really was packed with content, I even thought how they introduced Cyberpunk was well done. Forza Horizon 4 looks incredible and again it'll just pop up on gamepass day 1. Dying light 2, Metro Exodus, Gears 5 and Tunic stood out for me.

If only there was a method to watch at your leisure after it was broadcast :P

Oli Welsh's opinion piece is frankly bizarre. He seems not to have enjoyed previous showcases where Sony revealed games early (as though that's against the spirit of the show, or something), nor does he like the fact that Sony may be showing PS5 games even though nothing that was shown was far and away better than what we've seen released on a PS4/Pro up to this point. And his complaint about a lack of release dates would be justified if Sony hadn't released most of their first-party games in a timely fashion.

A lot of it? There are almost 200 games on Game Pass, of which 14 are currently available for PC.

I didn't know that! Is there a list somewhere?
