Why are console games so expensive?

Anything to do with games at all.

If I remember rightly, Turok was about that price, too.

My most expensive games were Conker's Bad Fur Day and Mystical Ninja for the Nintendo 64, both were about the equivalent of £70.

I once bought a rare Game & Watch game for that exact price as well, when I was in London.

I think pokemon stadium must have been my most expensive, but mainly because it came with the GB to N64 controller pak, that was about £65

I wish id got steel battalion, was like £100+ but way worth it i'd imagine, with that awesome controller - all those buttons!

Weren't N64 games something like £90 when it first came out?

As I said before, consoles are generally loss-leaders, and the money needs to be made back. PCs are not loss-leaders, plus they don't need any specialised dev kits to make games for them.
