I played about an hour and a half of the demo last night. It looks rough and runs like gooseberry fool. There's a bunch of awkward controls and animations. All that can be tidied up, sure, but this is a much-hyped demo, and I would have expected a higher standard.

The structure of the game, though, is wonderful. It's FFXII with Kingdom Hearts combat, and much more developed monster hunting. I went in with seriously low expectations and came away excited for the final product, provided they can polish it up.

I have heard the FPS is gooseberry fool, but 'it looks rough', really? From what i've seen, it looks absolutely visually stunning.

It's like it's last-gen environments and image quality with current-gen character models.

Demo. Still looks amazing.

The scale of environments is insane compared to other FFs, superb. The combat is superb and quite KH like as jiggles said.

Someone found how to get beyond the blue invisible wall boundary. Sounds like few cool things extra to explore!

Jesus Christ Ramuh summon is more impressive than any summon in an FF, ever

As did I, brilliant. Clock time of 3 hours 45 mins. Kept playing a bit after id finished it, turns to night and the Behemoth is roaming around so kicked his ass again.

Characters are levels 24-26 after that. Definitely go back to it and try the glitch stuff.

Just seen that the Behemoth is in the main area wandering around after you finish the demo

I'm getting a vibe of FFVIII. The NPCs at the start of FFVIII have "school" uniforms just like those...?

Nice pic SBC. Got lots of awesome pics on Xbox but cant share to twitter yet, annoying.

Can kinda of see what you mean Wedgie. FF Type 0 really reminds me of VIII crossed with Crisis Core, very good thing.

Digital Foundry analysis

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digit ... h-analysis

As expected, it's immediately apparent that we're looking at a sub-1080p presentation here. We peg the PlayStation 4 version at 1600x900 while the Xbox One version turns in an even lower 1408x792.

Got it on Xbox One and looks great, especially for being a 4 year old PSP game.

Ha woops, didn't click.

Same goes for FF XV, looks bloody amazing. Although some textures are a bit naff.

The combat is utter gooseberry fool though. Terrible battle system with a camera that just can't keep up. Found the controls shite too.
