Or should they rip up the rulebook, toss out homage to past glories and focus on something new?

I'd like to see something akin to III, IV and IX. It's all been too 'real world'. I liked the settings of XIII, but it still felt quite bland in comparison to the more obscure and bizarre worlds and characters of past games. They need to do away with the spiky-haired, whiny staples of JRPGs as well. I see XV has gone down that same route though.

A bit of a dumb questions, but are the cutscenes in the trailer real-time?

Have to disagree with Lotus, I think a more steam punk vision (leather coats, absence of a sun, the lot) is due.
I liked at the end of the trailer where they show the half-faces of some characters. Makes me hope that they're actually worth giving a gooseberry fool about, this time.

Well, I'd take that over another X/XIII/XV style one. Just III/IV/IX would be my preferred option.

I'd roll with IX, for sure. Loved the design on that.

That trailer makes the game look even better. Was interesting to see the same scene shown as before but with real time rendering. just hope this won't be another FF XIII

Thoughts;
- Almost looks like Square and Sucker Punch have been sharing ideas.
- So a real time battle system, maybe a touch Resonance of Fate-y with the three characters teaming up on attacks?
- Assuming those exploration areas are discreet instances of a larger world, though if the whole thing was seamless that'd be damn sweet.
- Zack Fair, Cloud Strife sans hair gel, and some bloke with a fuck-off big sword join forces to tackle The Last Guardian.

Overall that looked OK. There are many ways for it still to be horrible by the time it comes out, but right now I'm not hating what I've seen.

Really liking what we've seen so far, which isn't much. Looks a lot like advent children which is no bad thing.

Im being optimistic, Q1 2015 release 8-)

No FFXV at E3

http://sqex.info/shinji-hashimoto-inter ... p-e3-2014/

Final Fantasy series producer Shinji Hashimoto did a quick interview with Famitsu on the recent Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD collection announcement. One of the questions that was asked is If there will be any new information on Final Fantasy XV and the reply was that it was not the 'optimal' timing to release anything new about FFXV. There was also a small bit about If there was going to be more on KH3 at E3 but I'm not completely sure on it. I think he says he still needs more time until he can release more information on KH3.

What do you expect, it's a post-2006 Japanese game, they don't know what they're doing anymore.

Apart from the one girl it looks like quite the sausage fest. :?

Not sure about this one. I'll be waiting for the reviews it seems. Does it have a date yet?
