The update cocked the image scan from what i read. Most tvs allow you to alter it as well as the ps4 itself, but its annoying to have to do it everytime you play the game as others scan perfectly. The only one i have a problem with is dirt rally which seems to overscan by default a little bit, but have just left it.

I managed to fix it by changing the PS4 display area setting

Yeah I'm looking forward to this as well. It was supposed to release in December and I was hoping it would be before Christmas. I'm sceptical it'll be out in the last few days of the month/year really.

Also, I'm terrible at the combat, but I think I'm definitely getting better. Think it's just something very new and unexpected for a Final Fantasy game so it's taking me time to wrap my head around it. Sticking with Active rather than Wait though I think. Not sure how I feel about the Magic system yet though, it's quite reminiscent of the FFVIII limited spell system that I didn't like at all.

I kept combat to Wait 99% of the time; found it is way too easy to lose the particular mob I was targeting otherwise. Changed it to Active for fights against boss/larger mobs.

Spells mechanic is *slightly* deeper than it first appears. And the most powerful spells (not Summons) are left for you to figure out on your own. Heck, spells sometimes even takes environment into account. Anyone else used a freeze spell whilst standing in water? :slol:

Magic is kind of like summons in this game, and the team techniques are more like magic.

I only really use magic when I'm struggling or I want to kill something quickly.

I didnt use wait mode for I while but I found big battles an absolutle clusterfuck without it. With wait mode you can make sure you are targeting who you want.

And with bosses too, Ignis wont always scan them where as in wait mode you can make him.

Is there a quicker way to switch between Active and Wait modes than having to completely pause the game and go changing menu options? It'd be way better if there was a way to do it on the fly.

Why do you need to switch? When would you want to just stand still in normal combat?

Is it just me or is the music very low in this?

Must be you. In one of the closing sequences I couldn't actually hear the motivations of the big bad because the music was blaring over him (or her (j/k it's a dude)) IN ALL IT'S EPIC GLORY

Hmm. Will definitely be trying this if I cba to get back into the game. (Eating character's fave food at camp = character gets new version of selected technique, which has a higher chance of landing as a critical hit.)

Is the Ravus fight meant to be stupidly hard? I gave up healing my team because it was literally impossible to keep them alive. Just wailed on him myself, anyone do anything different?

He was resistant to everything apart from holy. It is kind of annoying how you can't give any proper commands to your team.

Hmm, he hit quite hard but I didn't have any particular problems taking him out. Had a much tougher time with some of the hunts.
