Biggest :fp: ever.

He didn't own a Wii, and they asked him, and rather than look stupid he grabbed the closest face-up title to him - Spyro - and gave some spiel.

While I'm on the subject of my days as a temp actually, there was a bloke who came in one day wanting to buy a 360 who I thought might be you. He looked like that age-old pic of you that used to float around the forum from time to time, and even called me fella.

This is me buying a game. Go into Game, see game I want, look at queue, notice similarity between queue members and dawn of the dead extras. I then decide to go into my local indy store.

Go into my local indy. Endure 20mins of how awesome Army of Two is and I shouldn't listen to what the reviews said. Once I have gone through this I find out the game I came in for is either a.) not in stock or b.) £5 cheaper in game.

Here we go again!

:fp: Erm, i think its pretty much accepted that it is, not that i agree with their opinions

Not the case at all. There were loads of threads on GR in the past year about GAME staff really pushing the PS3 and dissing the 360. There's no "hive mind" policy there. One assistant can be just as retarded as another.

I love Game's online website! Fast (I nearly always get pre-orders a day before release), reliable, competatively priced (when the £5 vouchers are doing the rounds you genuinely can't find producst cheaper elsewhere, and you can use them as much as you like!).

The Game retail stores however, i would never set foot in again. Everytime i go in they seem to want to hassle me -.-;;

God, it's uncanny.

Chris are you sure you didn't pop into a Gamestation far, far away from where you live one day and haggle with an assistant for Xbox 360 stuff, while telling your ill friend to go and dribble in the corner?

Hmm, I'm sure we could have a whole thread dedicated to GAME related problems.

The best I have had is that they didnt actually want me to buy a game. I went to buy a copy of Guitar Hero 3 with the wireless guitar for PS2 (this is how long ago it was). Was stood at the till with the cash in my hand, the assistant was dealing with some guy infront of me. The guy bought some game, then went away. I asked the assistant for guitar hero 3 with guitar etc. etc... The assistant then goes to get one from the back. On the way out to the back, the guy who he has just served asks him about a 360 game. The assistant then proceeds to talk to the guy for 10 minutes, after which point I gave up and decided to go to Gamestation. Just as I was about to exit the shop, another assistant turns up from nowhere and asks if i need some help. I replied "No, I'm going to go buy my game at another shop".

Tbh, its quite surprising how many high street game stores employ people who know nothing about games. I've had a couple of friends work in Gamestation and GAME and they themselves would admit that they dont play any games. Which is a surprise given how many gamers would love to work in such places.

I go into GAME and end up talking to the staff about the games I trade in. Had a good chat about Alone in the Dark and convinced the guy behind the till to hold back on it for a while.

Only problem I've had of late is one member of staff refusing to take a 'not for resale' copy of GH3. This would be fair enough, if they didn't have the self same copies on the shelf, and if nowhere else took the game either.

My nearest Game is great. I suppose it depends on who they employ as the manager. If the manager is a gamer type, then he (or in my case, she) would probably make sure the employees have a reasonable knowledge of games when they're hired.

I hear you there cyburn!!!

I walked into GAME the other day and noticed a girl staff member. She approached me and asked whether I required any help.

I giggled, went red in the face and ran out of the shop.

It turns out I had diarrhea and the girl in the shop was a pure coincidence.

TFL'd? Transport for Londoned? WTF?

And I did ask her if she'd like to go for a coffee once, she just looked at her shoes and mumbled something. I know Asia has some odd customs by our standards but I took that to be a no.
